What do you do when you sell regular Big Prawn Noodles, Pork Ribs Noodle, Pig's Tail Noodles, Crab Noodles, Pig's Intestine etc??? The next big step would then naturally be to serve all of the above as a Seafood Pot!!! Chunky pieces of crabs, big prawns, succulent pipis, nice clean chewy pig skin, intestine, tail & ribs incredibly served in a pot filled with prawn's broth!!! Lethal combination you simply can't stop - well at least for me ;p This is probably the next leap for hawker fare in Singapore. Definitely worth a try despite the price tag of $50, $80 and $100 bucks for a pot. Yumminess 4/5 👍👍👍👍
Been looking for some place that serves Singapore style western food in Hawker Centre. Kallang Bahru used to be my all time favorite until stall owner decided to quit after health ailments. ;( .......tried many places but not to my liking...either chicken chop's meat were not defrost properly or taste just isn't right. Today I tried Wang's Western and I must say its not bad. I will certainly come back for more, even my kids wacked the whole lot off their plates. Expect waiting time of 30 mins...Yumminess: 3.5/5
50 years of dishing out their specially guarded broth to the community. Although pretty common for prawn noodles to be priced $8 and above, I find the price steep for the portion I get. Miserable few slices of lean pork, miniature too. About 5 mid size peeled halves prawns, shallots and lard makes a $8 bowl. I must admit the broth here is good but little compared elsewhere. Existence and survival hood of this stall could well be from die hard fans as you can easily get similar or even better broth with much generous servings elsewhere. Yumminess: 3.5/5
Oyster omelette at its best! Crispy brown on the outside, tasty milky yet not overly starchy, nicely size oyster and not too tiny tiny ones, also not forgetting this stall adds CHYE POH in its omelette. Extremely yummy. If you think a $10 plate can feed a few of you here at this stall, you will be disappointed. For me, $10 here feeds 1!!! Hahaha....definitely the best I have tried. The sort that you think sleeping and come tomorrow food. Yumminess: 4.5/5
Read about this a week ago and I just had to try it. Somehow fried doesn't sound right with porridge. For those who have tried yam porridge, I would said it's similar. Imagine having baby food....sticky, fragrant, gooey...food so fine! Well fine as in it's like a paste....fine also means it's not bad. Worth a try. Tastiness: 3/5
Looking especially ordinary like any other prata stall in Singapore, you probably would think much could be in store. The pratas here are served with a special dip unlike the regular chicken/fish/mutton curry. Sweet slightly tangy sambal......ooohhh. Prata which is crispy golden brown on the outside, soft buttery taste on the inside. Can be quite difficult to get a seat as it's always filled with hungry patrons. Pratastic: 4/5
Opening time state 4pm - 9pm, however it was closed every time I reached ;( finally got to try it yesterday....long queue smacked in the middle of the hawker centre. I was the lucky few just in time before it sells out at 6.45pm. A extremely simple dish, just vermicelli, stock, cray fish, prawns, pipi and bring to heat. I guessed the draw was a dish not usually found in hawker centre. It doesn't come cheap $5/$8/$12 for prawns & pipi while $15/$20/$25 for cray fish. Actual operating hours: 4.15pm till max 6.45pm. In comparison to Sembawang White Bee Hoon (although not totally similar because of seafood mainly here) I find the taste bland. Will I come queue just for this? No not again, but it's worth killing your own curiosity. ;p Yumminess: 2.5/5
Forgotten to take a nicer picture as I was famished so please make do with this one! Hahaha. If you drive along Upper Serangoon Road at night, you probably come across this stall. Nothing fancy about the shop lot, actually I must say pretty run down and down right simple, no frills. This stall is usually packed from 6.30pm till late and expect to wait 30 mins or more. Huge fish balls made from yellowtail, real QQ. My favorite is the 魚餃, superlicious...yum. Also very usual to find Tao Pok in any fish ball stall in Singapore. Yumminess 3.5/5
An everyday dish originated from Sichuan Zhong Qing province. Hot pot....real hot!!! Meaning spicy ;) abundance of ingredients you can choose to make you own special hot pot. Started 2016 with this sure does make the coming year filled with explosiveness...hahaha. Extremely addictive, just couldn't stop!!! Goodness 4/5
This is old skool Chee Cheong Fun! Curry with pig skin Chee Cheong Fun, Chye Poh Chee Cheong Fun, Yam Cake, Pumpkin Cake....goodness!!! Feels like being transcended back in time, just setting looks much better than kampong style coffee shop. Very nice and tasty for old time breakfast, no frills, just plain goodness. 👌4/5
It is not easy to find stalls selling these nowadays, yet when you find it, it just doesn't seem to be right (well at least with me) some are fried too dark, meaning oil has been reused and reused. Some has too much flour, thus making this simple delicious cake too dry and stale. This stall strikes a perfect balance, huge chunky ingredients, flour nice and thin, tasty. However these buggers doesn't come cheap anymore. A special order will set you easily back by $2 or more if you have brought it at Chomp Chomp (I don't like this stall) tastiness: 4/5
Doesn't open till 9pm and tuck away in an unlikely hawker centre along Crawford. Expect to wait for an hour or more. Wanton noodle taste as it is named after, 油菜 with 豬油渣.....OMG! One of my favorites. Yumminess: 4/5
