At first sip, the subtle fragrance of caramelised sugar excites my senses. Shortly after comes the rich flavour of brown sugar pearls, which were scooped fresh and still warm from the wok. It had the right amount of squishy-ness, not too soft or too hard which made this bubble tea rise to become one of my favourites. From trying so many brown sugar drinks, this was not too overly sweet on the tastebuds. In fact, the fragrance and warmth of the brown sugar left a lasting impression.

This cuppa overthrew my long-time favourite Tiger Sugar Fresh Milk!

What’s a 🇹🇼 meal without a cuppa Fresh Milk w Brown Sugar Boba Tea ($3.80)? Soft, but also with that extra chewiness enough to keep your mouth busy. My boba-loving heart is set!

First, give it a real good shake till the stripes disappear (15x advised). The first sip is a hit of deep, rich flavours of warm brown sugar. Not overwhelmingly sweet so it’s not too jelak, but the milk does taste heavy halfway through. What stands out about @tigersugarsg is their Boba, big tapioca pearls, and pearls, the smaller counterpart. Get the same option as me to try both out! Personally, I prefer the Bobas which were very chewy & highly addictive. Isn’t that why we love bubble tea? 👅

A staple and comfort food for the common Taiwanese, Lu Rou Fan (卤肉饭) is a homely meal that’s best made by a local. Believe me, I was super ready to satiate my cravings at @eat3bowls Boy, did they not disappoint.

A set meal comes with a bowl of rice topped with braised pork belly, cabbage and soft-boiled egg ala onsen ($8). Hearty and comforting, the lean meat sinks into your teeth and packs a good punch of umami. Immensely tender yet extra flavourful. The braised pork’s sauce was so savoury that I easily finished every last bit of rice! Plus, what’s a 🇹🇼 meal without a cuppa Fresh Milk w Brown Sugar Boba Tea ($3.80)? Soft, but also with that extra chewiness enough to keep your mouth busy. My boba-loving heart is set!

On my next visit’s wishlist: to see if their oyster meesua & chicken rice lives up to their name.

A hearty all-day Breakfast Menu, I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the Bratwursts - delightfully juicy and very much fulfilled my Western cravings. Here, you'll find a generous mix of croissant, scrambled eggs, honey-glazed bacon, sauteed mushroom and fresh greens.

The main star of this dish is definitely the distinctive taste of Ba Kwa from the Honey-Glazed Bacon. It simply slides off your tongue and gives you that extra bit of crunch coupled with a sweet aftertaste.

My personal favourite is the simple, yet IMO perfectly done Scrambled Eggs. It retains its firm texture on the outside, but sink your teeth for a pleasant surprise inside. Soft, fluffy eggs that are not too overcooked unlike McD's.

For Brunch lovers like myself, it's hard not to find a gem in this dish.
