Always had a soft spot for rosti and was introduced to Buddy Hoagies by a friend one fine day, never went back to craving Marche’s overpriced rosti ever since. Ordered the Rosti with Grilled Chicken ($10.99++) and was pleasantly surprised to see the chicken come in huge portions! It was very well grilled, had that perfect smoky, charred taste to it. I went on a weekday during lunch time as well, so it came with a free soup & drink!

I’d highly recommend the Soft Shell Crab Salted Egg Wafu Pasta ($23) – it comes in a huge servings of soft shell crab and salted egg pasta, and very tasty as well. Would order it again without hesitation. However, I wouldn’t recommend the Chili Beef Nachos ($18). They came out pretty cold and soggy instead of hot, toasty & crispy.

Durian and tea sounds like a crazy combination that could never complement each other but the D24 Premium Jasmine Tea ($6.80) is definitely worth a try. The flavour and creamy consistency of durian is strong, but not overpowering, allowing hints of tea to peak through. Even if you’re a skeptic, I say go for it, at least once. It’s also much more filling than a regular cup of tea due to its thickness, so you can definitely share amongst friends.

Get whisked into a whole new wizarding world at Platform 1094. The Harry Potter-themed cafe offers an array of props like scarves, cloaks, glasses and hats, for that mandatory photo. Sip on the signature Mrs. Lich’s Butterscotch Ale ($10), to mains like the tender Pesto Mayo Pork Ribs ($22). Order a side of aromatic truffle fries ($12) to share amongst your group of friends!

Great shopping snack – Mega fries ($5.70), where you can choose up to two flavours, which is great for sharing if you’re in pairs. If there are more people around, I suggest getting the Giga ($9.90) or Terra ($10.90). Each fry is crispy and thoroughly coated in seasoning. Great alternative to Macdonald’s shaker fries if you’re yearning for more than just seaweed. I’d recommend getting the sour cream & onion, as well as BBQ – they’re super addictive.

The carbonara ($5.90), though not the best, is definitely more than decent and very worth it, considering it’s low price. Big eaters can order the chicken chop ($6.90) on top of the carbonara. Request for the mushroom sauce to go with your chicken chop – it emits a hint of truffle that hits the spot. What I do NOT recommend, is Da Bomb ($13.90), a beef/chicken patty (of your choice) with bacon & bbq sauce, wrapped in what seems like pastry puff (i’m not entirely sure about this). It was still worth it for its price, considering you’d probably have to pay $20+ or this at a typical cafe, but it wasn’t satisfying and I’d save my pennies for the chicken chop instead. Truffle lovers can also go for the truffle fries ($4) for a cheap thrill. Again, not the best, but not the worst, and extremely worth it given its low price, and would come back for more. And yes, you CAN taste the truffle flavour without trying to. For $4, that’s good enough for me!
