Lovely cup of joe from coffee roaster, Hamamas Cafe, which specialises in coffee beans from Papua New Guinea. It was a darker roast with chocolate undertones, the way I like it. Despite being on the Tanjong Katong food street, this low key cafe decorated with art work from PNG doesn’t seem to be on the radar of the usual cafe-hopping set due to a lack of social media presence. I tried the croissant from its small menu and it was delicious.

Teppei, Teppei. How I love you. Let me count the ways 1) freshest fish chunks marinated in soya sauce blend 2) on top of perfectly cooked sushi rice pearls 3) complemented by miso soup rich in umami. Each mouthful is a bit of heaven. Can’t wait to dine here again.

This is a gem of a cafe worth visiting. We had the waffles with gelato, sausages with pancakes and Three Musketeers- a trio of sourdough toast topped with half-boiled egg and avocado, smoked salmon and banana/peanut butter/granola. Every dish was beautifully presented - made for Instagram and absolutely delicious. I should add that the coffee art was top notch too! If ever you’re in the East, do make a stop at this hidden gem of a cafe.
