Golden Osmanthus Pineapple Tart From KELE 桂花黄梨塔 Only $38.80 per tin, approximately 850gm. Deliciously fragrant pineapple tarts with a delightful twist, highly recommended for a unique and flavourful treat. It is a joy to get it here with the friendly service crew from the flagship store.

Boozy mooncake The avocado was clearly the better flavour, like ice cream! Can’t really taste the booze in the rest but the skin and filling was decent. Not too sweet. Could be more flavourful tho.

Korean hotteok croffle - Croffle had a super crunchy crisp exterior with a chewy middle, topped with cinnamon sugar giving warm undertones that complemented the gelato 🍨 - 𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙞 𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙠 𝙩𝙚𝙖 (𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙪𝙢 +$1): Appreciated that it’s not very sweet with its characteristic aroma of spices! - 𝙍𝙤𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙥𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙞𝙤: Would prefer to have a stronger nuttiness.

Mochi waffle - Waffle was crispy on the outside with an airy fluffy centre, mochi encased was stretchy and melty! - 𝙏𝙖𝙧𝙤 𝙮𝙖𝙢 (𝙥𝙧𝙚𝙢𝙞𝙪𝙢 +$1): Subtle vanilla-like sweetness with a distinct coconut milkiness, pairing well with the mochi 🍠 - 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙤𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙤𝙠𝙞𝙚𝙨: Like a salted caramel base with cookies and cream topping, a blend of buttery caramel flavour and a slight crunch from the toffee bits.

Pu-erh tea - Mild-tasting tea, could have a more prominent pu-erh fragrance.

Dark chocolate fiesta They had multiple dark chocolate with different richess. Ordered their 88% dark chocolate (+1) & Japanese Matcha to level up the richess. Dark chocolate was really rich in flavour & matcha balance it out. I like that the server pay attention to detail such as when I am looking for tissue and looking for cups. Overall, I like the environment and the service.

Dark Chocolate and Hazelnut & Rose Lychee cake slice. Got the Dark Chocolate Hazelnut cake slice and the Rose Lychee cake for the 1 for 1 cake slice deal. The chocolate Hazelnut cake was very sweet and moist. Was expecting less sweet with more intense cocoa flavour and the Rose Lychee cake was on the drier side with a subtle rose flavour and faint hint of lychee. Service was great and nice ambience.

Three Scoops ($9.50) I decided to try their gold medal winning flavours. I probably wanted to try their ice cream very long time until now. Let talk about Hazelnut, it remind me about rocher (just one thing). got strong taste tbh but milky and creamy texture. second flavour is salted macadamia & dulce de leche like hmmm i forgot to describe. like savoury and nutty taste for ice cream tbh. pistachio I really never liked the texture and aftertaste tbh. like too much creamy and milky texture.

Regular cup 8.3nett Salted macadamia with dulce de leche. Oh dear the dulce de leche was executed so impeccably. Super complex and intense, and rlly unique. The macadamia was generous and aromatic too Sunkissed coconut was absolutely lovely too. Seems like a combination of coconut water and milk, it's not too creamy not too watery yet it's still very strongly coconutty. Superb

Baked strawberry cheesecake, chocolate sorbet The chocolate sorbet was really good. Balanced sweetness, strong chocolate flavour and just bitter enough. For connoisseurs and non-connoisseurs alike Baked strawberry cheesecake was fine as well, it's strawberry (somewhat weak for their usual standard) with cubes of cheesecake. Not stellar tho Be careful cos they have more than 1 strawberry cheesecake gelato, there's a baked one and a normal one

Delicious cakes - yuzu osmanthus with a layer of jelly inside and cactus cake With burpple, it makes this meal even sweeter!

The cactus (tart) You don’t have a reason not to try Keong Saik, especially since it’s on Burpple!

Traditional Bahn Mi ($11.90) I never saw bahn mi was being separated it out with pork pate, roasted pork belly and vietnam cold cuts filling, their vegetables and sauce. That's my first time that seeing vietnam restaurant separated ingredients out. But I felt that filling was quite not much tbh at least their bahn mi was quite crispy and crunchy (but slightly dry aftertaste) :")

Fresh Spring Rolls ($7.90) comes with 4 pieces and homemade peanut sauce. I felt that it's not that to me bc the rice paper was quite thinner tbh than au (perth) and the restaurant already sliced into 4 pieces. But I didn't expected that they put mint leaf inside roll. :") at least the mint leaf is not strong taste compared what I used to eat it before.

Home Cooked Lemongrass Water (Hot - $3.90) Good thing that I have ordered hot drink as I felt unwell for stomach and also feeling cold at same time. I never tried lemongrass water before so it's kinda my first time to do so. But it's quite interesting taste without adding raw sugar inside. I just feeling much better after drinking halfway through.

Mao Shan Wang Mousse with Biscoff Coming here could be not easy for those taking public transport, as you still need to walk for a distance to reach here. And the shop is facing the main road of Woodlands Avenue 12, so might difficult to locate the shop if you come from the back of the building. Beside continuing their durian business at this premise, there’s also tables and chairs for people who come here for dessert. Their Mao Shan Wang Mousse definitely worth getting, which taste very thick; comes with a piece of the pulp. Recommends to add the biscoff to it and add some cripsy bites. Enjoy your Burpple Beyond here with one for one dessert like this together with a drink.

Assorted Kuehs 🍴TAKE OUT🍴 📍Tiong Bahru Galicier Pastry, Tiong Bahru📍 ... Tiong Bahru Galicier Pastry's one of our favourite places to get traditional kuehs, and we're so sad that they're closing down soon😫! Got ourselves a last round of kuehs and pastries, including the Putu Ayu, Kueh Salat, Kueh Dadar, Kueh Ambon, Custard Tart and Custard Puff🤤. We exceptionally love their Putu Ayu, which is steamed pandan sponge cake with grated coconut🥥and flavoured with gula melaka. The pandan sponge cake is soft and airy, and not too sweet when topped with the sweet and savoury grated coconut, making it a perfect light afternoon snack☕! The Kueh Dadar is good too, as the crepe is soft and the grated coconut is fragrant. We love their pastries as they're delicious and not too sweet, making it perfect for everyone in our family🙌. Will miss it dearly when it's gone😢!

Traditional Nyonya Kueh The queue to get in here is longer than you'd guess since they announce their closure. I managed to find some time on a weekday morning just to have a last taste of these freshly made in-house Nyonya kuehs and I’m glad the queue was just 15mins long. Due to high demand, there is an order limit of 2 boxes per pax for Kueh Dadar, Putu Ayu and Ondeh Ondeh. Sadly they did not have Ondeh Ondeh during my visit but I still get my hands on their popular Putu Ayu along with Kueh Kosui, Pandan Tapioca, Lemper Udang and Kueh Salat 🤤 》$13.90 Putu Ayu is basically steamed pandan mini cake crowned with grated coconut. The top consists of white grated coconut with gula melaka while the bottom is the pandan cake steamed to an individual flower shape. The texture of Kueh Kosui is perfect, chewy and not too soft or hard. Pandan tapioca comes with a nice fragrance of coconut with a texture firmer than the former. Lemper Udang has spicy shrimp in a glutinous rice roll filled with a coconut aroma. It has a good ratio of rice to spicy shrimp and it’s something more savoury compared to the other kinds of kueh. Last but not least, the custard layer made with eggs and coconut milk on Kueh Salat is soft, smooth, rich and goes very well with the firm bottom layer of glutinous rice with coconut milk.

!Closing soon! (Expected end of June) Situated along Tiong Bahru Road, TBGP has been around for 40+ years and specialises in Nonya kuehs. When news first broke, the queue was very long. Came around 4pm on a weekday, by then all the Putu Ayu finished. Auntie say all gone in the morning, people came and bought in packets of 10s. While queuing, saw everyone have a box of chiffon cake, feel very left out if I didn't get 1 for myself. All the pastries I had, all were very good, I especially like their egg Tarts the most. Cream puffs were great and so were the Kueh Ambon. Come and get this piece of history before it's gone this end of June 2022.
