Nestled away on the second floor of Holiday Villa is the traditional replica of a Chinese dessert teahouse. I drove around Holiday Plaza a few times before we spotted it's colourful neon signage peeking out along the window strip!
The mango pomelo sago and honeydew sago were pretty good and the use of santan enhanced the flavours further!

This is where The Malayan Council hits the mark.
The Grilled Salmon with Ravioli and smoked duck pasta that we ordered were well balanced and we waited for about 20 mins for the food - which is okayy in my books. But the manager had apologies profusely and gave a set of Malayan Wings on the house!
TMC prides itself on giving an Malaysian twist to the typical cafe fare such as asam pedas fish and chips and salted egg pastas.

Over at their flagship shop in East Coast, Awfully Chocolate does a full dinner menu along with their already wide range of chocolate cakes.
The ribeye steak was incredibly well cooked and the staff were friendly. Pair this with wine or the unique in-house chocolate drinks!

In any case, one of their former chefs has surfaced to start their own coffee shop stall venture serving this legendary pork chop fried rice alongside other chinese-styled handmade noodles.
I think they pretty much nailed it and selling it at half of the normal dtf prices, this is a steal if you just happen to be in the Bedok area!

Hmm... Looks like the phenomenon isn't just confined to the famous Fengshan 85 Food Centre.
Over at the 511 Hawker Centre, the focus is on the dumplings instead of the minced meat slush (can I call it a slush?). Good enough to fight with the two shops at the other end of Bedok, but I wouldn't make the trip specially to this more inaccessible location unless I was hankering for dumpling soup.

I've been on a roll for scones for awhile and tea just completes the entire afternoon experience for me.
Violet Oon offers it's Singapore Tea Set for $58++ and 13 different nom-nom morsels to share with a friend! Each item was amazing and really lived up to the restaurant's reputation!
We also had an interesting laksa-flavoured tea which was infused with the fragrance of coconut.
