It's Korean BBQ to celebrate Lann's birthday! Also our Secondary Sch Clique meet up 😊 Korean food for the Korean enthusiast! We all had 90mins of BBQ! As usual, the Koreans have their banchan plate out really nice & delicious (fish cakes & glass noodles!) also, love their spicy chicken/pork! They really go well with fried garlic alongside with red pepper paste & fresh lettuce. *burp*
It's been a great deal of time since I last posted something worthy to share. So yesterday the gf and I randomly decided to have lunch here and I'm Glad we did! We had the fish tacos and ox tail stew. For coffee I ordered the Jawa which had the hint of coconutty and Pandan Flavours which is pretty awesome and went well with the oxtail stew which carried Asian Flavours. I was skeptical about the coffee because I previously ordered a Apple Macchiato to go and man, $8 for a portion of my cup to be filled with Ripe Apple juice just doesn't seem right. So anyway, the ox tail was very tender and flavourful! The tacos were pretty amazing and being a fan of sweet and savoury flavors I wished the mango salsa for the tacos had more mangoes but everything was good. Even better if you're a mcd curly fries fan like my gf because they serve a general portion of it. Our bill came up to about $67, pretty worth it because we finished everything except the salad and celery 😂 The waitress was friendly and very polite. Great experience so this place is pretty TGIF approved! I've been to a few places that are disappointing this past week & if I come across something good, I need to SHARE! Will be sharing some bad ones but this is GOOD so if you guys are in town and wild honey is crowded this makes an excellent alternative. 😎
Seriously, I still am in disbelief that such a cafe exist in the midst of your usual unsuspecting block of hdb. Once you step inside you would feel the difference just a door apart from the "outside world". Love how clean the whole cafe looks. We ordered the charcoal waffles with salted egg yolk sauce topped with the Earl grey lavender and strawberry miso ice creams. Strawberry miso?? Whats that? Well it's the ingenious of combining both sweet and savoury flavors to tease your palettes. I personally love it. And it's like heaven is a place on earth when combined with the oh so rich I can taste salted egg yolk sauce(especially after a disappointing salted egg yolk dinner just minutes before). Together with the charcoal waffles? Brilliant just brilliant. The Earl grey lavender ice cream though...if you've ever had a spa experience before you would know what I mean by I felt like I was consuming the massage oil. Not in a bad way, just it was something too familiar to be consumed. Definitely heading back to try more ice cream flavors and the Yuan Yang waffles. I'm so envious of whoever lives near this area! 😉
Still can't get over the fact that my bestfr wasn't lying when he said this amazing cafe is just across where he lives. Love the lively and bustling cafe with it's rustic settings. We ordered this pancake banana ($9.50); perfect combination of chocolate and banana. I mean what could possibly go wrong with this made in heaven combo? Fluffy and soft pancakes, sweet bananas and rich chocolate ice cream and sauce with the finishing of the nutty flavours of pistachios. Love it very much! We had this together with our mains and I found myself choosing this over the latter. Definitely going back to try their other desserts and mains. Great find at bedok! You're totally missing out if you haven't been there and live near there like my bestfr do! 😉
So the gf had a little time off lessons so she decided to take me to one of my favourite cafes. And although it's been over a year since I've last been here, I wasn't disappointed. Man, the food here is still so good. First time embarking on their lunch menu though; she wanted pancakes. The sticky date pancakes were amazingly delicious but could have been fluffier. The ocean Mac & cheese was delicious in all it's glory but wished the macaroni was a little more al dente. Apart from the mains, we got to try their Yuzu tart. Love it's tardiness and the sour punch which was highly acceptable. The lunch had a perfect ending; iced Thai coffee. Nothing feels better than being tucked away from the busy traffic and streets with your loved ones. X.
Finally had myself seated in here after passing by so many countless times for some me time. The cafe was filled with working adults having lunch; vibrant environment. I went straight for the crustacean bowl,($27.90) making the calories so worth it. Beneath all the gooey goodness lies, generous servings of poached lobster meat, cavier and unami like waves of ocean sweeping through your palettes. Add a little serving of hot sauce and I was sold. The combination was amazing. I'm not a usual fan of carbs but I finished what I was served. Not subtle a hint enough? You need to try this. Finish off the meal with a pot of hot tea. How can food taste so orgasmic; epitome of food porn. I loved every bite of it. *Salivates*
Tucked at the corner where a famous duck rice stall used to reside, this cafe seems like a refreshing change to the once old school and traditional looking place. You'll be greeted with the aroma of coffee brew and the loveliest smile on the staffs' faces. We ordered a bacons & eggs and also the belly good Tonkatsu Risotto. Amazing how these two dishes contain pork bellies yet worlds apart. The breakfast dish was a good combination of sweet and savoury. The Bacon was caramelized to perfection not too sweet, just the way we liked it. If you're thinking of your usual salty, thinly sliced and easily available Bacon, think again. The Risotto came with a twist of japan. Combining the essence of shoyu or miso? Brilliant. Although it tasted very much like seaweed chips but we loved how rich the unami in this dish tasted. I'm not a rice lover but I gobbled this down. Definitely calories worthy. Ordered a hot mocha and loved how their chocolate complements the coffee. Overall, a satisfying meal. Would definitely head back again for more! East siders can certainly travel down because it's worth the distance!

Came here with my girl before she got into her exam frenzy. This outlet is definitely significantly smaller than the one at the Turf Club and you get to see what's in here at a glance which I think spoils a bit of that mysterious feeling. We ordered everything in the picture for the both of us because we wanted to try a bit of everything. The bowls from grillo was pretty awesome especially the garlic tofu bowl which is super yumz?!?! Definitely heading back for it. Beef bowl wasn't too bad for the price you'll be paying. The sweet potato fries from them as well went well with the yuzu Mayo from rollie Ollie. That being said, the sushi roll was very disappointing and unimpressive. We didn't bother to finish it. Think nothing replaces shiok maki ever. We also ordered buttermilk fried chicken from Wolf burgers, it was good but the only problem lies with the salted egg Mayo which tasted just like any ordinary Mayo. Other than that, the Burger was really good. Crispy chicken and soft buns. I paired my meal with the amazing matcha latte from Sarnies. Oh so good! Rich matcha flavor with the company of milk. Love it! Overall a good experience. Cant wait to share more when I head back to the outlet at Turf City soon.
