Itek Sio From Marie’s Lapis We recently had the pleasure of trying the new dish, Itek Sio, at a popular café on the east side of Singapore. This slow-cooked leg of duck is an absolute delight, featuring a harmonious blend of tamarind mixture, shallots, coriander powder, and dark soy sauce. The flavour are perfectly balanced and seep into every tender bite of the duck. Accompanying this succulent main is blue pea rice that not only adds a visually stunning element to the plate but also complements the dish with its subtle fragrance. Only $20 for now.

Tok Kong Mee Siam Pretty plating, especially with tiger prawns. But nothing about it suggested it's better than any mee siam.

Lapis Waffle@$12 Just had lunch nearby, and was searching for a place using burpple search nearby function to look for desserts and chanced upon Marie Lapis Cafe that was near where we had lunch. The store owners were ultra friendly, this and the ambience of the cafe made us feel very welcomed and homely. We proceeded to order their kueh lapis and their unique lapis waffle. 1) the lapis waffle was crispy. And tasted distinctly like kueh lapis. Their ice cream flavours also nonya style flavours, such as chendol, ondeh ondeh, mua chee etc etc. 2) kueh lapis was buttery and soft. Tasted very good. Highly recommended. Only found out while waiting for our food, that the Google reviews of this place is astonishingly high at 4.8/5. And saw alot of good reviews for their Peranakan Food like mee siam and rendang. So have earmarked to return here again to try those.

Refreshing Drinks! Located “under” JE MRT tracks, Serious Fresh offers a huge collection of drinks ranging from coconut shakes to cold refreshing teas at affordable prices. Even more so with the Burpple 1-for-1. I recommend the Triple Peach tea if you’re passing by!

1-for-1 Beverage (save ~$5) In need of a refreshing drink? Swing by Serious Fresh’s Bedok Mall outlet for their Shaken Hibiscus Tea ($3.80)! This tangy beverage is sure to quench your thirst in the sweltering heat.

Serious fresh 1for1 only for regular M sized drinks under Tea fresh. Ordered Manuka Honey Tea + Coconut milktea Sugar level fixed for Manuka. Taste was refreshing for a hot day. Not too sweet as well. Coconut milk tea is ice-blended along with other ingredients like ice cream, tea, gula melaka and creamer etc. Overall taste not bad, a rich n creamy drink. Just wished the coconut taste will be more prominent, can't really taste coconut which is a pity. Will be back to try other drinks!

Korean stew Well cooked, broth full of flavour. Great presentation too. Cozy vibes in the cafe

For 1-for-1 Main Dish (save ~$15) Pint & Dine is a one-of-a-kind culinary establishment with a menu that’s very much inspired by the idea of simple and honest cooking. Their K-Chick Waffle ($18) which consists of the classic fried chicken and waffles combination with an added side of kimchi and onion rings is exemplary of that. Take a bite and you’ll know what we mean!

5/10 food a nice cafe w good vibez + korean songs 🥺 ordered the bulgogi carbonara, mentaiko salmon rice bowl and chicken cutlet rice bowl but those were disappointing so it’s a 5/10 for me 🍽 nothing was outstanding and i will not have it again … matcha latte was alright tho … 🍵

Rustica Pizza ($33) Pizza was okay for a Domino’s Pizza fan like me

Beef Cheek Tagliatelle ($34) The braised beef almost melted-in-the-mouth, sauce was rich, rather heavy on the garlic but on the salty end of the spectrum which made it more filling.

Sunday Dinner Celebrating Mom’s Birthday Great ambience with excellent service 🥂 Cataplana ($39.80) Roasted Cod Fillet ($39.80) Mushroom Truffle Risotto ($23) Napoletana Penne <Gluten-free> ($22) Seafood and cod were juicy with crispy cod skin, yum! Skip the penne unless you’re vegetarian 🥗 The waiter kindly informed us to join a free lifetime membership with Novotel (a French hotel-chain which this restaurant was a part of) which allows you to redeem a free dessert per person 🍰

Classy Indian Saw this restaurant on Burpple and was craving some Butter Chicken so why not? A small establishment located near Clarke Quay MRT, Manam is an upscale restaurant serving an extensive menu of Indian delicacies. We of course chose the Butter Chicken ($20) and for some veges, settled for the Aloo Gobi Masala ($17). Butter Chicken was rich and creamy with only a hint of spice - would have preferred it with a slight bit more kick, but this was still delicious. Aloo Gobi was not bad too, with a large portion of cauliflower and potato chunks. We mopped up the delicious curry with the Garilc Naan ($6) and Parotta ($7). Both were so good, especially the parotta which was buttery and crisp yet soft and airy - much like a good croissant actually! Altogether with Burrple, it came up to $36.30 for both of us which was so value-for-money!

From their array of dishes, the chicken kebab (Murgh Malai Kebab) won my heart. Tender chicken that’s mildly seasoned with herbs, and cooked in traditional tandoor oven. Goes well with their Biryani. You can’t miss their wide range of curries! Mutton Rogan Josh comes with succulent mutton that’s braised in gravy till flavourful. Curries goes well with their thosai and naan · Manam @manam.sg

Fresh seafood sashimi on delicious rice We got the premium Don ($22.80) + drink ($3.80) burpple set and it was absolutely delicious - the scallop was sweet and fresh, the sashimi was a generous portion of tuna and salmon. And the rice was buttery and v umami with the seaweed flavours and bonito flakes mixed in! V affordable chirashi place in a central location.

Main Dish + Drink ($16.60) Located outside of International Plaza, this restaurant serves very affordable don! We got the Bafo Don ($12.80) with a Yuzu-based homemade drink ($3.80) with #BurppleBeyond - 2 mains and drinks @ $16.60! The lady boss was very friendly and shared with us the top-selling items on the menu. Highly recommend!

Super worth it! Super delicious! The seasoned rice was topped with fresh fish and various condiments and taste superb mixed together. The apple and yuzu drink was refreshing too!

Waffles were average, service is lacking Food was average, but service left a bad taste. Visited Grin Affair recently, attracted by a clearly advertised discount. However, when it came time to pay, the manager refused to honour the discount. There were no disclaimers stated anywhere on the listing, yet when we pointed this out, there was no effort made to recover the situation — no apology, no alternative offer, nothing. We even kindly suggested they update their listing to avoid misleading future customers, but our feedback was brushed off with indifference. Overall, very disappointing experience — not just because of the discount issue, but the poor attitude towards customer service. Definitely not a place I would recommend or return to.

Earl grey + Matcha ice cream Walked round the corner to Grin Affair on New Year’s Eve as Denzy was too crowded. They sell ice cream too. Though ice cream is icy the flavours are nice

Lamb Shank so much goodness packed into 1 plate. the meat slid off the bone effortlessly and was super succulent. mixed with its special spice and herbs sauce which was so unique and delectable. the blue pea rice was also very tasty and fragrant. finished the last bite wanting for more

Wagyu Don Ordered the most expensive Wagyu Don on a Saturday. With Burpple, I get the Anago Don free. And I can choose two items of side dishes and pay for only one. I chose Chawanmushi and Miso Soup. Quite a good place for lunch with a partner, using Burpple Beyond.

Aburi Salmon Scallop Don Honestly, was a bit disappointed. The scallops didn’t taste fresh. And there wasn’t enough sauce to flavour the rice (unless you count soy sauce)

Unagi w mentai tamago ($22), snow crab pasta ($15) Unagi was quite small in portion. Mentai tamago combi is 👌🏻. Snow crab pasta taste like chilli crab sauce w lots of meat

Ok food for price (1 for 1) Ordered unagi fried rice - portion is small, unagi not visible but taste of unagi is evident. Seafood pasta came abit wet tasted abit more home cooked than restaurant style. Thought the oyster comes together with the seafood pasta but they claimed they served wrongly (and told me only when I was making payment) - suspect they do this with all tables who didn’t hit the min spending. Then say out of goodwill will give a 15% off for the 1 raw oyster. Overall, nice ambience but poor business ethics, won’t recommend
