ηΊ’ζ²Ήζζζι’ sichuan red oil wonton noodles ($9.80++): 9/10β¨β¨β¨
always my go-to order at paradise dynasty! love the fragrance of the hot oil from the sichuan peppercorn and the slight tanginess from the vinegar. the fried garlic bits also added another dimension to the fragrance. the noodles have also been consistently cooked to perfection with just right amount of bite to it! and the wonton skins were silky smooth and each wonton was filled substantially. honestly nothing to fault here--maybe could do with a little more spice but there isn't much to complain about :")
also the ongoing promo for pd members is really worth it so now's a good time to sign up for their membership. iirc membership fees can be deducted from your rebate if you spend a minimum of around 30 bucks? this is not sponsored btw LOL but yaa you'll get rebate for each transaction as well so you can save money too when you wanna indulge in restaurant food
mentaiko salmon sushi ($5.90 for 5): 8/10 β¨β¨
got this from donki but overturned the entire box otw back home (hence the weird shapes and scattered rice) oooops. the mentaiko mayo had a nice smokiness and the salmon was quite substantial. definitely an accessible and more affordable option if you want ur mentaiko fix :)
customised bowls with 2 bases + 2 toppings + 3 abacus beads ($4.20): 7.2/10 π€€β¨
we got
1) grass jelly + soya pudding base with osmanthus jelly and taro jelly
2) soya pudding + osmanthus pudding base with earl grey jelly and matcha jelly!
hehh sorry left the dessert in the fridge for awhile so its looks a lil curdled :3
got the 1-for-1 at $4.50 on shopback n it was worth it!! i loveee the silky texture of the bases and the various jelly flavours came through really well. would highly recommend the osmanthus + soya pudding base n earl grey jelly!! super strong in flavour :) also can i just say osmanthus jelly is sooo hard to find, so i'm rlly glad that there's this option near me hehe. the taro jelly gave me taro milk vibes in a good way too! rmb to add the soy cream cos added a nice richness to the dessert. also the sweetness was just right for me π
tried the number 7 ($26) which was a pizza topped with sauteed mushrooms, parmesan and truffle oil but there's really nothing to shout about as well.
definitely had better elsewhere at a more affordable price, but i guess the staff was friendly and it was certainly a really nice place to dine at.
number 3 ($26): 7.2/10 π€
the number 3 ($26) is a pizza topped w smoked salmon, sour cream, dill n capers. crust was decent and had a really nice bready flavour, but lacking in the slightly crisp exterior and i think overall the toppings were too salty for my liking w the capers + smoked salmon combination π
definitely had better elsewhere at a more affordable price, but i guess the staff was friendly and it was certainly a really nice place to dine at.
mixed box of kueh koswee ($4) contained 5 pieces! my favourites were the tapioca and gula melaka one :) i loved the melt-in-the-mouth texture of the kueh and the accompanying burst of juice that the fresh coconut flakes gave π€€ the gula melaka one particularly had a burst of flavour which i really enjoyed. the pandan one had a light custardy flavour, which was not bad too! really appreciate the effort that went into the kueh, cos its really hard to find good ones like these nowadays :")

looking forward to try other dishes from the shop like the kuih ubi bingka and the prawn noodles which had a really robust broth!! just that the shop is slightly inaccessible and hard to find, but it gives off a really homely feeling and almost feels like a refuge from malls nowadays with snaking queues for dining in. also the owner is super friendly and kept gaving me samples of their food HAHAH :") thanks uncle!!
really enjoyed the shack stack ($14.30)! the components really went well together and i loved the cheese from the breaded portobello. the crumbs of the portobello breading was also surprisingly flavourful and honestly i felt that the star was the portobello more than the beef patty. only gripe is that there could have been more sauce and it was kind of small for its price. ALSO loved the soft potato buns!! and the place was lit just that we waited 45+ minutes on a weekday night

the wagyu beef pho ($6) had a light yet flavourful broth while the beef slices were cooked to a perfect texture. generous portions of side condiments and herbs in the pho; all in all a very down to earth bowl of pho which i'd hands down choose over nam nam. special mention for their avocado smoothie ($4) which was thick and creamy unlike those watered down versions almost everywhere else. really worth a visit especially if you're in town and on a tight budget! also, service was really warm and friendlyπ€

the portion of unagi given was really substantial and there was a nice grilled flavour to the slightly charred bits to the unagi. the rice was coated in the unagi glaze which made the whole combi even tastier, while the dashi stock served at the side was refreshing and light. each component in the hitsumabushi complemented one another well. really tasty although i'd hope for a stronger grilled flavour. however, as someone who hasn't been able to eat at man man because of their prices, i find una una really value for money given its convenient location and for the lovely dining environment. would 10/10 visit this place again!

this was really filling. love the charred bits on the chicken and the onsen egg mixed really well with the rice. really generous with the chicken. only complaint is that it gets kinda one dimensional so it'd be great if you accompanied it with other sides/drinks!

rice bowl was creamy and really flavourful. loved every bite of the oyako don and the grilled chicken had a nice bite to it. honestly can't use words to describe this dish and you gotta try this out for yourself!

edit: however, visited for a second time and the oyako don was rather watery somehow and the texture of the rice wasn't as on point. maybe it was just a bad day?
my favourite from Alt is still truffle shuffle. in general the pizzas were quite tasty and service was fast! would come here for group outings since the place is spacious and pizza is great for sharing. the buffalo wings sauce had a nice tangy kick to them and they were encased by a crispy crust.
