Just a stones throw away from the Karaköy fish market is Akin Balik, a no frills fish restaurants loved by the locals and we can definitely see why. Despite being just being a few steps from the Golden Horn and the bustling Galata Bridge, the place made us feel like we were relaxing at a seaside village far away from the city. Walk towards the back to choose your kind of fish (go for seasonal sea options when possible) to be grilled whole. They serve decent mazes too to ease the wait for the mains to arrive. If its name is anything like how it's pronounced in Malay (sounds similar to "akan balik"), I'll definitely be back again and again.
