Wholesome without being tiresome, this vegetarian bowl is packed with bags of flavour. The parsley-forward falafels were moist and well-seasoned - if a little small - sitting on a bed of quinoa and joined by bedfellows of cooked carrot, radish, baby spinach, cucumber and crunchy cashews. Tangy and sweet, the honey mustard-esque sauce did much to elevate the rest of the ingredients.

I have to say I prefer the lunch bowls at @dziendobry.szczecin over their breakfast spread, they're much more well-composed and flavourful.

I chose the chicken Banh Mi Bowl (there's also a tofu option for vegetarians), which only superficially represented its namesake in the form of the pickled vegetables and coriander, but all things considered, is still a tasty dish if you take it for what it is.

The chicken was plentiful and slathered in a mildly spicy sweet 'n' sour marinade, alongside Polish-style pickled julienned carrots and cucumber, purple cabbage, crushed peanuts, sesame and coriander. Fluffy, well-cooked basmati rice went well with the rest of the ingredients, and the small dish of vegan Sriracha mayo added creaminess to the sometimes dry chicken. All in all, I enjoyed it very much.

Dzien Dobry cafe in Szczecin doesn't just excel at breakfast and brunch, their cakes and pastries are scrumptious as well. A delicate and melt-in-your-mouth choux shell is piped full of fruity berry jam, then topped with pistachio creme and chopped pistachios. It's unassuming, yet full of flavour.

With caramel studded with crunchy peanuts in a crisp and butter pastry shell, this tart will satisfy any sweet tooth. The mini pretzels added a welcome salty savouriness as well.

Quite the popular cafe that's also dog as well as child friendly, Dzien Dobry has an extensive brunch menu and an impressive pastry selection.

I got the croque madame, which was impressively large. With layers of ham, bechamel and cheese smooshed between thicc, fluffy slices of challah bread, then crowned with an irresistibly wobbly poached egg, this is one manwich that will satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. My one complaint is that it could have done with a touch more salt.
