It felt like I walked about 15-20 stories upwards from the bus stop at Lower Delta road - not the easiest place to get to via public transport on a hot afternoon. But if you're a keen vintage collector/hoarder, this trip up to Old Habits will be worth the burn.

This cafe is the embodiment of 乱中有序 (order in chaos), with all sorts of retro lights, posters, toys, furniture, analog clocks, etc covering almost every space inside, but yet neatly displayed. Waves of nostalgia will start sweeping over you the moment you spot the facade even from 5m away.

Food menu is a rather extensive western food selection, some with special elements like the seasalt caramel roast chicken or nyonya spicy casserole. You will not be disappointed by the homely delicious creations of the owner Don who is a self-taught chef, and I'm not exaggerating when I say you can taste sincerity in his food.

It is a MUST to try their Signature Frozen Salad - standard greens with fresh plump prawns, big crusty homemade croutons, topped with an unconventional ingredient - tomato ice cream. Think of it as ketchup sorbet, a sweet and tangy sauce slowly melting and enveloping the veggies, keeping them chilled and crunchy. Refreshing and delicious, this is easily top five of my favourite salads… now let me think about what the other four might be…

I won't be surprised if Old Habits has a handful of die-hard fans (geddit geddit)... They definitely had three more that Sunday afternoon.
