Date of visit: 22 Dec 2018, Sat (12pm)
Dish ordered:
- 2 pieces of fried chicken wings
- 1 piece Taiwanese sausage (Wanted to try luncheon meat, but they didn't have :/)
- 1 plate of beehoon

Rating: 8/10
Reasons:
1) Beehoon is springy and soft, though I wish that more soy sauce is added.
2) Although the chicken wing meat is somewhat bland, the 'just right' crispness, juice retained in the meat and the aroma are fundamental characteristics in making a nearly perfect fried chicken wing! No wonder our Prime Minister (Lee Hsien Loong) made Yon Yan in the headlines when he queued for its famous fried chicken wings at its former Redhill outlet in 2014.

Bonus: Between Yon Yan and Eng Kee, I actually prefer Yon Yan because even though Eng Kee's and Yon Yan's chicken share similar characteristics, what makes Yon Yan better is that the owner is able to ensure the chicken wings are not slightly overcooked which is what I prefer. But still, Eng Kee's chicken are good as well :)
