Priced at a reasonable $5.90, this gelato was Every single mouthful was tremendously creamy, with an extremely earthy and pronounced notes of Sage and ending off with a sweet savoury brown butter aftertaste. I was particularly impressed at how they managed to lock in so much brown butter flavour, especially in contrast to the numerous other disappointing brown butter bakes other bakeries have attempted to offer. It was remarked that the gelato had a textural contrast as well, likely due to the bits of sage which were chewable. I am not entirely sure if Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato invented this flavour, but simply replicating it to such a fine degree is in itself the work of a genius. Also, just like that know-it-all who consistently goes above and beyond in delivering โ€˜A+โ€™ worthy assignments making you wonder why he is even in school, Monarchs & Milkweed Gelato may have just made the best cone to complement their gelato. Made with French butter, you can actually taste the difference as it was incredibly aromatic and buttery. Notwithstanding the fact that I am not a huge ice-cream or gelato fan to start with, the Brown Butter Sage easily topped my list of all the gelatos I have ever had. Now, if only they were in a more accessible locationโ€ฆ
