The 6-course Christmas set dinner was a well orchestrated affair with quite a few of my favourite food items showing up in one form or another. Here are the dishes in order of appearance...
Amuse Bouche: Burrata cheese from Bari-Umbria with Sicilian tomato jelly and homemade basil flavour grissini.
Cold appetiser: Spinach panna cotta with Hokkaido hairy crab and sea urchin with 3-flavoured sauce.
Hot appetiser: Pan seared foie gras on daikon in chicken bouillabaisse with chives.
Primo: Ravioli stuffed with winter black truffle and Yukon potato cooked in beef cheek braised sauce topped with rucola.
Secondo: Breaded mandarin-fed sea bream from Ehime served with seasonal pickled vegetables and fennel purée.
Dessert: Apple mille feuille accompanied by honey lemoncello ice cream and peppermint sauce.

After we had eaten our fill, I learned from the manager that unfortunately, the restaurant will be closing at the end of January 2015. That's really sad because I thought the food was pretty good. And the service made dining here very pleasurable thanks to the well-trained, attentive staff. I shall miss the view too. From my table right beside the high ceiling-height glass window overlooking Scotts Road, I could see the twinkling Christmas lights and watch the world go by.
