Boyfriend came here for the famed lor mee but all the coolness of the afternoon's rain had worn off into humidity and lor mee no longer felt like a good choice. So I queued 25 minutes for the bcm and still there were 10 people ahead of me and I gave up. Sincerely, it smelt and looked and probably tasted damn good but I was bored and impatient. So I switched to curry.
This stall's hidden in the back row, not a single person queueing for it the four times I walked by. Despite my apprehension and because I was starving by then (boyfriend had already queued for, ordered, received and eaten his bowl of lor mee and even let me try some and that made me hungry as hell), I decided to give it a try. Leap of faith yea.
The curry's not bad really. I got myself more potatoes so it cost a bit more ($4 or $4.50 I think). It's decently spicy which I like and the curry runs on the thinner side. For our chilli-averse friends, come prepared.. The potatoes were delicious although some were a little undercooked imo but that's also only because I like my potatoes falling apart at the very touch of my spoon lol. The rice though was stale and cold and hard, ugh.. Really wish they had the traditional jiam tao loti too ):
Verdict, I'd eat it again if I'm here at the same food centre so it's pretty ok. But I'd like to try the bcm next time lol.
Side note: The food centre has some pretty kickass sugarcane juice as well.
