Definitely not for the faint at heart, and if you can actually bear the overwhelming constant noise pollution within the restaurant and can put up with listening to your neighbouring table discuss their work and love lives because the restaurant decided personal space was not a priority in design… then this $49.90++ (seasonal price) “Premium Chirashi Don” is for you. The sashimi definitely outweighs the rice in quantity with thick slices of salmon, tuna, swordfish, yellowtail, scallop, salmon belly, salmon roe, tamago, prawn, uni, and one seasonal fish.
There’s so much sashimi, even my hungry sashimi-craving foodie comrade couldn’t finish this bowl!
I can’t deny that this restaurant serves up wicked sashimi dishes, but I didn’t like that the sashimi was served in super thick slices… and the noise… oh the noise pollution of what sounded like a million people talking echoing in my head. When I walked into the restaurant I immediately asked to be moved as we were at a cramp little table with people chatting on both sides with less than 20cm between us… enough to be the equivalent of claustrophobia for me. Kudos to the restaurant who changed our seats so that only one side had annoying chatty people. Service is great… ambience is… not my cup of tea. People don’t even sit so close on a communal table! I would prefer it if they stuck cubicle partitions between the tables even if it were cramp, I wouldn’t have to listen to others’ conversations and could enjoy savouring my food in peace. There’s a reason they say silence is golden.
