With the chilly season comes the best time to tuck into a hearty tummy-warming Mala! Having had Mala at plenty of places, 日日紅 has been on my wishlist as I've seen it appear on my Google search for "Best Mala in SG"!

Prices were charged according to the type of ingredients you pick. Vegetables are charged at $1, meat at $2, and fish at $3. The lady will grab a specific amount of the ingredient you choose, depending on the pax having it. I ordered my usual must-haves of Maggi, luncheon meat, enoki mushroom, lotus root, tau kwa, broccoli and Chinese cabbage.

You'd be given a queue number upon ordering, but the waiting process was relatively fast. I tried the 微辣 version, and it did not disappoint. The taste of the dish was well balanced, as there was equal ratio of numbness to spice (some other places' Mala are just plain salty, or numb and not spicy) - it was tasty alright. My bowl came with some free ingredients such as pork slices, kelp and the flat translucent noodles, which I assume are remnants from the previous stirfry.. the serving was huge and only costed approx. $8!

It was a satisfying meal indeed.. oh and don't forget to pair it with a cup of sugarcane lemon juice!
