Since our last visit in May 2019 when we were impressed by how close they were to the holy grail of Ding Tai Fung's pork chop fried rice, King of Fried Rice ("KoFR") has expanded from a single shop front at Golden Mile Tower to stalls in Sengkang and Chinatown.

The parents tagged along with us recently so we had the opportunity to try more of the different varieties of fried rice on their menu.

Flavours-wise, the DTF fried rice is still richer than KoFR's. The pork chop however is amazing as always. I probably wouldn't be able to tell them apart under a blind test.

I am not a big fan of their xo or tomyum fried rice but their crab fried rice was really yummy. The crab meat was fresh and juicy and added a nice sweet savoury touch to the wokhei of their fried rice.

Even though they occupy two shops in Golden Mile Tower, table space still remains an issue. My advice is to go during off-peak hours or be prepared to wait a while for your seats and orders!
