I visited the restaurant with my husband and infant for lunch at 12.20pm on 13 February (Sunday). Check-in record via safe entry. We ordered about 5 dishes for lunch and as my husband took a first bite into a shao mai (pork dumpling). He noticed something irregular and spat out the contents, only to realise that he had bitten into a carcass of a dead cockroach. We immediately informed the outlet staff who without hesitation took away our plate of dumplings away. When I questioned them about it, they said that they had informed their kitchen on it. After about 5 mins, their manager came out and said sorry and will cover our entire bill.
We were shocked as to how they had handled the matter and did not ask how we were doing but just simply closed the case. At that time, my toddler had already consumed some of the porridge from the restaurant and we were really affected by the hygiene levels of the restaurant. Although, we tried to brush the matter off but after much thought and a loss of appetite, we decided to leave the establishment.
What infuriated us most was the way the Outlet Manager Miss JK and her how her staff handled the matter. They took away the evidence of the cockroach so promptly but I managed to snap photos of it before it happened. Please look into this matter and ensure that proper food hygiene is practiced throughout.
