By the same people behind Tempura Kohaku just next door, and similarly offers only one option of non-spicy/ spicy bowl, and is pretty affordable at $13.50++ for this very filling katsudon.

Crisp batter that thankfully wasn't greasy, encasing the relatively thin slices of tender, juicy pork/ chicken. Tbh I can't really tell the difference. The bowl was interestingly topped with egg on the fluffy rice (get to choose between Nanatsuboshi Hokkaido rice or multigrain!). For the non-spicy bowl, the sauce was light and pretty tasty but we liked the spicy version better (slightly too spicy for me tho). Prefer Kohaku for variety, but if the queue is too long, this is a pretty good alternative to get fried food cravings satisfied.

Personally also enjoyed the sweet tonjiro soup ($1.50) which was satisfying - with loads of cabbage, carrot in it!
