Two Men Bagel House is pretty much a familiar name within the local F&B scene after all these years — in fact, these folks had even expanded their presence out of Singapore and into Thailand in recent years as well. Whilst much of its operations in Singapore seems to have been stabilised with multiple locations all around the island, Two Men Bagel House had silently opened their newest outlet in Tower 98 of the Punggol Digital District — this would be the same tower block that also houses Aka Sushi Bar and Woke by Wake The Crew, and the outlet of Song Fa Bak Kut Teh and 87 Just Thai there. As with all locations of Two Men Bagel House in Singapore, the outlet at Punggol Coast also does come with dine-in seating. The food menu revolves around bagel sandwiches, bagels and schmears; there is also the possibility of choosing the various elements that they have to offer to “assemble your own bagel sandwich”. Non-bagel lovers also do have the option of Super Bowls as well, while Two Men Bagel House also offers a small variety of sides dishes that can be shared around as well.
Two Men Bagel House does offer an exclusive bagel sandwich at every outlet that they operate — the bagel sandwich offering exclusively available at their Punggol Coast would be Finding Nemo; the menu describes the item to come with elements such as fried fish of the day, sunny side-up, salted egg sauce, Thai chilli jam, pickled 3 chili and Mesculun. As with all bagel sandwiches available at Two Men Bagel House, patrons do get the choice to choose their preferred bagel to go with the Finding Nemo — our choice of bagel being the Cheddar & Jalapeno bagel. Two Men Bagel House’s bagel sandwiches usually comes at a substantial portion size and the same can be said about the Finding Nemo — there is something about the elements and flavours going on here that seems very closely related to local-style wok-fried dishes served up at zichar establishments in coffeeshops, food courts and hawker centres. The fried fish of the day does come with fried batter of panko crumbs that adds a crisp texture on the exterior to the flaky and moist fish within. The immediate dish that the Finding Nemo is reminiscent of would be salted egg sauce fish fillet; the salted egg sauce does come with a sandy texture from the mashed salted egg that gives it a saltish yet creamy note. Other elements like the Thai chilli jam adds that sweet note typical of Thai sweet chili sauce with a mild level of spiciness to tickle the tastebuds, while the capsicums do give the typical fragrance of chili peppers that one would come across in some dishes like Sweet & Sour Pork. The choice of the Cheddar & Jalapeno bagel also works great where the bagel itself was firm; all that while the jalapeño further adds on to the flavours of the pickled 3 chili with the melted cheddar giving a bit of a chew and a crunch plus a slight savouriness to further provide a contrast of flavours. Do get ready a bunch of tissue paper whilst getting through the Finding Nemo though; the amount of sauces and drippy elements does make it a little bit of a messy eat for those whom are not too careful!
