A long overdue catch-up with an old friend led to us dining here today.
The first thing that struck me was how much the interior had changed since I first stepped into this restaurant when it was newly opened, and it was all unfamiliar faces that greeted me this afternoon too. However, in spite of these developments, I was really pleased to discover one of my favourite pastas, the “Homemade Tagliolini Vongole e Bottarga” was as delicious as ever, if not even more so.
Every al dente strand of the pasta was flavourful, having absorbed some of the wonderfully sweet and umami golden-coloured sauce.
Initially, I was surprised by the very generous amount of de-shelled plump clams but after a few moments, it occurred to me that with the rather high price point, that’s only right. They didn’t stinge on the shaved bottarga (cured grey mullet roe) either and I love that.
In summary, I would say this is worth paying for as the quality and taste is above the norm.
