Recipe called for a chocolate brownie base followed by a cheesecake top. However I decided to tweak it a little, and made a chocolate cake base instead.
As you can tell from the picture, it is far from perfect. There is so much room for improvement, and luckily the final touch of chocolate ganache helped quite a bit to salvage the overall appearance of the cake.
I'm still thankful for my number one food critic and supporter; who encouraged me when I texted him pictures of the awful-looking cake when it came out of the oven, who said it didn't look as bad as I thought it was, who commented it tasted better than it looked, who hugged and thanked me for baking him the cake, who told me not to be discouraged since it was my first time, who had the cake for two consecutive breakfasts, etc.. 💕
And so, my first bake of the year, checked! ✔️
