Melon Bread Ice Cream ($5.80)

🍴As part of their new opening at Takashimaya, #azabusabo (previously only at Clarke Quay) has teamed up with @donq_depuis1905. We highly enjoyed this special combination of melon bread and Japanese ice cream. It’s best described as a giant ice cream choux given the crispy top of the melon puff and fluffy interior, and filling of cold and creamy ice cream. We stuck with classic Japanese flavours of super uji matcha and sesame, and loved this balanced mix of strong bitter matcha and nutty sesame (did wish this was slightly less sweet). However, we did find the bottom of the melon bread a bit dry and could see how this would be a lot more enjoyable had the bread been pre-toasted/ warmed up. The combination can also get a bit sweet and rich so would recommend the bitter matcha that helps to balance it out & sharing it with someone else. For quite a big melon bread & 2 scoops of ice cream, we found it to be quite worth trying at the $5.80 price ☺️.
⚠️ There’s no indications of how long this opening promo and collab would last but maybe if enough people eat and enjoy it, they might consider making it a staple? 😉
