Overpriced cheese toasties are dime a dozen. No Sleep Club's rendition is worth every penny. The new season truffle comes through strongly, but is never in competition with the cascades of oozy mild cheese dripping out of the toothsome grilled sourdough. It's the little touches that make all the difference, and here the finely diced chives and paper-thin pickles add acidity and pungency in the right doses to complement the sandwich. The tomato soup also deserves praise for its rich, roasty, well-rounded flavour. It's the perfect classic accompaniment to the toastie.
