It's East meets West at celebrity Chef Akira Back's restaurant located in JW Marriott Hotel. The restaurant is the second partnership between JW Marriott Hotel and the Las Vegas-based chef, the first being in New Delhi. Sit by the kitchen at the long, high counter sushi bar and watch the chefs work their magic, or opt for the terraced seating for a semi-private dining experience with your date. The former professional snowboarder turned sushi chef serves up authentic Japanese cuisine with Korean accents like the Jeju Red Snapper ($23) wrapped with orange tobikko and chojang (red chili pepper sauce) as well as signatures from his restaurant in Las Vegas. You must try his Tuna Pizza ($25), paper thin tortilla shell covered in ponzu mayonnaise, topped with sliced blue fin tuna and micro shiso before drizzling truffle oil. Other noteworthies include the Hokkaido Scallop ($28) served with kiwi and the Ji-dori Chicken ($28) that sits on a bed of truffled potato puree. Drinks wise, try Akira Back's namesake sake, specially brewed by the Nanbu Bijin brewery located in Iwate perfecture.
