So we've heard many people talk about the pasta here and we took forever to try this place even though we live nearby. So we finally got to have lunch here (after several attempts - "no more lunch menu now, only desserts" and coming on their rest day aka Tuesday). Saw the menu and frankly got really excited because all the pasta dishes sounded so elaborate and yummy I wanted to try everything. There was probably 50 pasta dishes in that menu I kid you not. But anyway, the lunch special is that you get a bottle of "fruit juice" aka cordial, with every dish you order.
The pastas arrived pretty quickly, and the risotto took just a while more, hence the missing risotto in the picture. They looked so gorgeous I got even more excited. But the taste is what it's all about right? I can't remember the exact names of the dishes so description will have to do, sorry!
So the squid ink pasta was okay, quite some mussels in there; the carbonara thing was not bad, except for the prosciutto aka the star of the dish, it tasted kinda strange, almost like ham that's gone bad? The baked rigatoni thing looked so promising but really punched me in the face: the sauce was sooooo overly sweet and that alone ruined the entire dish. It was also like a pizza wannabe that went so wrong. My risotto dish had bacon/pancetta I think, it looked pretty good but then again, the seasoning.. -.- it was so dang salty I couldn't finish it. Maybe too much Parmesan? Or maybe just too much salt.. Lastly we ordered their signature dessert, it was okay, a little too pricy if you ask me.

Overall I would say it was a pretty bad experience. Maybe because I'm a super picky pasta eater. The seasonings and flavors were so off I honestly think I could do much better.. The cafe was pretty packed for lunch though, but I don't think my family will be going back there anytime soon..
