A traditional Chinese snack of candied fruit called bingtanghulu (冰糖葫芦). It typicaly consists of fruit like Chinese hawthorn. It has a hardened sugar coating that comes from putting the skewer in the sugar syrup.

So I've always thought hawthorn taste sweet, like how we love the childhood haw flakes. My colleague brought me to taste and see what's a actual hawthorn fruit. Tbh this was nice but it gets really sour when I'm at the last few bites. It's quite an experience to see such food here in SG 》$4/Stick
