Pandan gula melaka waffles ($6.50)
Double scoop ice cream ($8.20 + $0.80 for a premium scoop) - Roasted Sesame and Smoky Milk with Cacao Nibs
When it comes to waffles, personally it's always texture first, taste second. Love the texture of this waffles, firm on the outside (not crispy, but firm) and soft on the inside with just enough moisture level. Thickness is great too. Taste wise, can taste a hint of the pandan and gula melaka and it's not overly strong or overpowering.
Waffles come with a complimentary sauce and we had the cameralised cookies which goes very well especially the ice cream.
As for the ice cream, the roasted sesame is well done, nothing to complain about but not anything to be fanatical about either. Smokey milk with cacao bits sounds like a novelty, but it's actually quite interesting and good. Many other flavours to try if timing is right and they change the flavours every once in a while too (great effort!)
Only down side is that it's a small place with limited seating (8pax) so the waiting time was rather long on a Sunday afternoon. Many people just bought the ice cream for takeaway, but I was here for the waffle so I was willing to wait 45mins. Food was worth the wait, but the price point is a little steep for the location and small shop size.
Will come back but maybe not so soon or so frequently.
