Fresh Beets is one of the food stores found in habitat which serves up DIY salad bowls in two sizes - the smaller one ($10.90) gets you a grain, a cold dish, a hot dish and a protein while the bigger bowl ($12.90) gets you one extra hot and cold dish each! Similar concept to makisan but way better in quality and portion size! Step aside, makisan, cause we are bringing in some fresh beets.

Even though it's a DIY salad bar, they have clearly put in alot of effort into ensuring that each dish is well plated and garnished and the presentation is to a fine dining standard, which left me very impressed. The grains you can choose from quinoa, couscous etc, while the hot and cold dishes are an assortment of vegetables ranging from broccoli to pumpkin, chickpeas to potatoes. Proteins can be selected from chicken, salmon and beef (extra charges apply for both).

We chose a curried couscous, with an Asian honey soy chicken, chickpeas, aubergines, cauliflower and pumpkin. It also came with a cream of cauliflower soup which I suppose was the soup of the day. Each of the dishes we had were very tasty (coming from someone who doesn't really eat salads) and the servings were pretty generous! It was definitely a hearty salad and you won't go hungry afterwards.

Would definitely recommend this to try!
