Known for their fried chicken, I decided to skip the famed Chicken ‘N’ Watermelon ‘N’ Waffles and focus entirely on their chicken by getting their Lewellyn’s Fine Fried Chicken. Yes, I am a lady on a mission. This dish is so named because this 100 year old recipe is created by Lewellyn herself, or so I was told by the friendly staff. The chicken is brined for 27 hours, then battered in a medley of spices, and deep-fried to perfection. What you get is a plate of sinful indulgence, where you bite pass that lightly crisped skin to the juicy, tender and most importantly, savoury meat. the meat really does come off the bone easily, which makes cutting it less of a chore. Now, before you berate me with 'who eats fried chicken with utensils?!', you must understand the peer pressure when everyone around you is using utensils 😰 Not a fan of hot sauce in general, I paired my chicken with their bourbon maple syrup instead and I absolutely love it! My only qualm for this dish is that the herbs didn't really shine through for me, though it still makes for a pretty decent fried chicken. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣
