Coming to Pontian, you shouldn’t left the place without grabbing some of the traditional pastries from this place called the Chai Huat Heng.

An old school pastries shop that has been selling for more than 80 years now and continue to be a family business in this town.

Their Heong Piah 香饼 is one of the popular items here. I was lucky to catch the time when they just finished baking them, hot from the oven without any packaging yet. This pastry is stuffed with caramelised malt sugar inside.
