[Kovan, Singapore 🇸🇬]

I first tried 卤之家 through groupbuy when it was a home-based business during Covid-19. Later it opened a physical outlet at Bedok North. Recently I found that it has opened a bigger outlet, just a bus stop away from Kovan MRT Station. There’s indoor air con dine in area, a big improvement from Bedok outlet. The place was minimal in look.

Signature Braised Pork Bowl 招牌卤肉饭 (S$11.50)
Uncut pork belly + ramen egg + mild spicy minced meat + xiao bai cai
The minced pork gave quite a spicy kick. If that’s not enough for you, don’t forget to help yourself to the accompanying chilli sauce. The pork belly looked very fatty but the fat simply melted in the mouth. Can’t help wishing the meat could be more tender too.

Torched Tamagoyaki Mentaiko 火烧玉子烧明太子 (S$7.80)
The sweet spongy egg roll topped with the savoury mentaiko was quite a combination.
