This stall was previously located at Zion Road (and therefore the name) before it shifted to its current location 10 years ago. I will be honest and say that I didn't know it existed until a couple of months ago.

I usually have sliced fish soup because it kinda defeats the purpose of having fried fish if it is going to be dunked into the soup and get all soggy (and also for health reason). I must say that in comparison to others, Zion Road's fish soup is milder in terms of flavours. It is light, clear and subtly sweet. There is no MSG used and the natural sweetness comes from hours of boiling high quality fish bones. I also like that they gave loads of vegetables with the soup. The sliced fish is fresh but a little too thinly sliced for my liking.

The fried fish however is simply the bomb. The batter is crispy and crunchy and the interior flavourful and juicy. This is as good as and if not better than the fried fish from the no-name fish soup stall at Alexandra Village which I really like.

I think I might have found a worthy alternative to Han Kee which is nearer to home (but the queue is similarly nasty long)!
