Wow.
The layer of azuki isn't too thick, because the balance of salt and sweetness has to be there. And almost perfectly balanced it was, if a little bit sweet.
Mochi itself was good too. it's soft and not too stretchy with the teeniest bite
To think I stayed on the same street as possibly the most famous wagashi shop in hakata and didn't know about it until my last day there.
Thankfully I stumbled upon this pillar of history before I flew.
However, stick to their traditional Japanese sweets. This gateau fromage is not well executed. And it has a bit of citrusy taste which is weird considering they have other flavoured ones
