A sweet ending to a good meal here, loved the drizzle of gula melaka, addition of corn flakes gor crunch. coconut ice cream was fragrant.

Thank you Soi Thai Soi Nice for having us and Burpple for the kind invite!

Tangy, and each piece was chunky with a good bite - fat/meat ratio was just right.

Braised pork knuckle was flavourful, tender and gelatinous but portion is huge! Good to share.

Pretty spicy to me but I loved the smooth bouncy eggtofu! Prawn was crunchy.

Choose between Yam Fish/ Tomyum Clear/ Tomyum Red for the soup base.

The Tomyum red base we had in the porridge hotpot was very appetizing! Despite its colour, the broth had a nice balance of sweet and tangy with just a little heat. An impressive visual with Flower Crab (or soft-shell crab), Squid, Prawn, Red Grouper Fillet, Mussels, Flower Clam, Raw Egg and Yam (+$16 for lobster)!

Loved that the grains in the porridge don’t turn soggy fast but do try to remove the squid and prawns once it’s done to avoid overcooking them.

Choose between Yam Fish/ Tomyum Clear/ Tomyum Red for the soup base.

The Yam Fish base was comfortingly light, umami with sweetness from the long hours of boiling of fish, cabbage and yam, with the choice of either fishhead/ sliced fish. The fried grouper was fresh, texture was firm and a decent portion. Comes also with mussels, enoki, Taukee, flower clams, deep fried egg tofu, and more add-ons are available.

Soi Thai Soi Nice has just added Royal Thai Mookata to their pretty extensive Thai-Teochew menu. Exclusive to The Seletar Mall + best of all for those looking for a supper fix, this outlet opens till 2am on weekdays/ 3am on weekends!

The mookata ($38.8, 2 pax) comes with assorted vegetables, seafood, pork slice & luncheon meat. Fat cube is used to oil the pan before the sizzling party starts. Not only were the ingredients fresh and tasty, the outlet had a comfy homely ambience (&we didn’t smell like seafood thereafter - one of my biggest gripes abt mookata/ BBQs)!

Back to the usual favourite hunt, this time we decided to try something new and got the Devil’s Fried Rice with Seafood, but a more toned down cowardly version of it.

Of which their staff still recommended I get a drink to douse the fire 😂 - but the less spicy version was actually VERY mild and manageable.
The fluffy fried rice was very tasty with a bit of heat from the chilli shrimp paste, chunks of squid/ prawn and fish were quite fresh! With my recent obsession with Thai omelette (very unhealthy but tbh, the oilier it is the better it tastes), we ordered the one with pork, pretty good but wasn’t what I had expected (not as fluffy) and they were not very generous with the minced pork. Also, it was more expensive than my fried rice and some meat dishes 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nothing to shout about for the seasoning but extremely tender!

We don’t come here often but this beef soup is definitely one of our favourite dishes to order! Tasty, not too heavy on the seasoning but it does get saltier towards the end; comforting, and they’re pretty generous with the beef slices/ ball/ tendon.

Thai omelettes are one of my favourite. The one here comes with minced meat. Could be a bit fluffier but still sinfully good! Not for the health conscious 😛

It’s Basil minced pork with flat noodles instead of rice! Springy, with a good spicy kick that proved to be very addictive. Now I know where to head to for affordable tasty Thai food in Orchard!
