For A Cold Day
When it's a cold and long day, hot bak kut teh will warm and comfort you.
Trying Taiwan beef noodles for the first time. Usually I'm a fan of Vietnamese beef noodles. But this was really good. The portion is reasonable for the price. But the drinks are over priced. Will pay a second trip to try their various broths. Hehe
Herbal peppery pork rib soup cannot be described with words. Craving for this finally satisfied. Perfectly peppery enough for me who's not into spicy food. Good for a cooling night.
SUPERB FOR A COLD DAY DEFINITELY! The soup is slightly more herbal but still peppery. But it's not too peppery which is just awesome for a amateur spicy eater like me. Meat is well cooked and just soft and slightly chewy. Tastes great with the black sauce and some chilli. Shiokkkk haha. Definitely to try if you're in the west!
I'm a sucker for soupy kway teow and so I totally fell in love with Nam Nam's Beef Pho. Their soup is thick and full of flavour yet not too salty. A lil spicy due to chilli for those who aren't game for spicy. But if you take the chilli out before mixing it's good. And the mint leaves gave the soup a refreshing taste. & the beef is just heavenly haha. I'm not a huge beef eater but their beef was sliced just nice to be eaten well. Easier to be chewed and just awesome. For a cold this, THIS IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED HAHA!
Steamboat dinner with my colleagues that day. Really awesome soup. They had so much variety but sadly I'm not up for spicy. So we had laksa and preserved veg soup at my table. Their buffet style is awesome cause they got a lot of types of meat, veg and others to suit everyone. Great for cold nights. Hehe
For big eaters like me and bf, we had a impromptu Suki-ya lunch. Lunch is cheaper and even cheaper on weekdays. Apparently it's 17++ a person usually, but they had some promotion that the second person is only 11.90!!! Funny we were too hungry that we didn't know till we had to pay the bill. It's really worth the price. We took lots if meat, really a lot for just 2 people and add veg to make the soup better. They have 6 kinds of jap style soup to cater those who like spicy and non spicy kinds, even the one for Shabu-shabu. It was a great experience there too. Good food, good price.
Love how simple dinners like this make me so happy. The authentic oyster mee sua with their fried chicken cutlet fried rice. Honestly this stall at Ehub hasn't dropped it's standard one bit since I first had it on 2007. Really damn awesome for a cooling lazy day today. & this is maybe about 10 bucks. Really worth it!
For a day of craving some noodle soup. This satisfied it. Haha. Their new promotional ramen. Sadly ramen is never cheap if not I would have it all the time when I can and when I want something hot and soupy.
