A bouquet of edible flowers! I love a good edible gift. Here is a bouquet of cupcake roses for Mother's Day. Tried piping rosettes of Swiss meringue buttercream for the first time and filled the cupcakes with a surprise centre of chocolate crème pâtissière for the chocoholic mum. Happy Mother's Day to all the beautiful mums out there especially my wonderful one ;-)

All-day economical bee hoon that was pretty damn good. 2 happy people fed for $7.90 and after 10 years the price of a plate of bee hoon remains unchanged at 60 cents. The bee hoon was cooked perfectly and I doused it with the sweet and sour chilli sauce. And the chicken wings, oh the chicken wings were to die for. Super crisp and juicy omg so so good. You have to try this the next time you're here, look for the stall with the long queue. This really is a Singaporean hawker institution.

Totally nostalgic, this traditional butter cake is filled with candied mixed fruit and can still be bought in old school bakeries. This homemade version is very buttery and moist, and super generous with the fruit. It's so good I cannot stop eating.

Was recommended this place for authentic food by an Indonesian friend and it didn't disappoint. The tahu telor was all I ever wanted, juicy inside, crisp outside with just enough grease to coat your lips, all smothered in the most amazing sweet tangy sauce. The beef rendang was super tender as well with a really rich coconut flavour. And belachan kangkong for a balanced meal. The assam prawns fell short though, there wasn't enough assam flavour and the prawns weren't succulent. Washed it all down with a creamy avocado milkshake.

Portion size was just right to feed two people for a reasonable price of $56.90. Will definitely go back again for my tahu telor fix. Remember to keep having your iced water refilled, you'll need it. Hope everyone had a good dinner :-)

MY MACARONS HAVE FEET!!!!!!!!!!!!! Granted, these were the only 2 in the entire batch that didn't crack, but I'm still pretty happy that I finally made a semi-successful attempt at making macarons. Oh well back to the drawing board :-)
