Sweet Sweet Heaven
Finally got on the band wagon to try honey comb soft serve. And my verdict? I love it!!!
Dun deny me a slice of the rainbow. The fridge display full of rainbow cakes is just enough to brighten my day!
Light chocolate cream filling choux puff. Prefect treat to kick start the weekend!
Old fashion Cantonese dessert with real ginger juice. Whole some healthy dessert. Not for the faint hearted because the ginger juice is very strong.
Good old fashion coffee cake. Because some days are just meant for sweet cakes.
I have succumb to my curiosity and decided to try the cult favourite of Old Tea Hut's Gula Melaka Tea. My hesitation was only because I take my tea/coffee sans sugar. I always feel the sweetness distract the taste buds from experiencing the genuine aroma and flavor of the tea leaves/coffee bean. Anyways..... Putting the engulfing sweetness aside, the signature depth of Old Tea Hut's brewed tea was not lost. Its some how manage to prevail amongst the blanket of evaporated milk and gula melaka syrup. A soft balance of tanin and coconut-y after taste that lingers. A must try for those who prefer their tea with that extra oomph! Warning: Old Tea Hut is notorious for their long queue even at odd hours of the day. Beats me!
found the banana overly hard, yet still a worthy dimsum dish. it's finally Friday. an almost jammed packed week with tastings, meetup, basketball, blogging and work. quite an achievement
Child hood favourite of all time! I used to come here every Sunday when I was little. Undoubtedly soft and silky 豆花. This stall runs for 3 generations. One small bowl will cure you of all troubles and worries. Not to mention its only 70 cents!
Who would have guess in a place that serves top notch soups can serve up a brownie that is worth coming back for?
One of the menu items i never fail to order is this dessert. The pumpkin cakes. It is made to order and serve piping hot at your table. The outer crust is deep fried to golden perfection. But when you take your first bite into it, you will get a surprising gooey center reminiscing a mochi texture. It's not overly sweet while the subtle pumpkin taste permeates every mouthful. Take heed, it's addictive!!
Let's say this tiny ramekins is scale down to a bomb. The effect of each spoonful should be equivalent to an explosive invasion of rich durian flavor unto your taste buds. Don't under estimate its size. Cause you know what they say, good things comes in small packages.
Im my opinion, one would want to hold a taiyaki as if you are holding the torch from the statue of liberty. Oh, come on! How else would you hold it! Giggles..... This shop is drenched in pink deco. As if selling taiyaki is not enough to lure girls into the shop, they have to dress the whole shop in pink. All time favourite would probably be the azuki bean filled taiyaki topped with matcha cream and an additional itsy scoop of azuki bean. For the moment now they have the holloween special ( in the rear of my pic ) an azuki bean filled taiyaki topped with a teeny scoop of sesame ice cream garnished with a twirl of ever so rich pumpkin cream. I would go for the holloween special any day just because of the densely flavored sesame ice cream. You don't wanna miss that!
