Eats at Tiong Bahru/ Yong Siak/ Seng Poh/ Tiong Poh
I finally understood the hype behind the Brocolli! Really very interesting and special. I will prefer of it comes with a little bit more crunch!
Head out to try the new place before it gets saturated by the crowd. It took me a while before I found the place due to the confusing block number in that area. Food was normal, not fantastically outstanding, but it was good to have a new place to chill in the area, away from the too crowded Yong Siak area. The toast was, in my personal opinion, overly toasted but if you like crunchy and crispy bread then perhaps this is for you. Orange juice is refreshing under the hot sun but a bit too sour. But this, one can't help since it depends on the batch of oranges you buy. Service was prompt, perhaps because the crowd hasn't settled in. Still a lot to explore for this new little cafe. There is potential and I hope they will really strive to improve in order attract the crowd in and have a lasting presence in the Cafe Scene.
After seeing so many positive reviews about their waffle, I've decided to try it! But I must say I was slightly disappointed. It wasn't the "best" waffle I have tasted. Found the waffle a little too dense. I will prefer it to be crispy on the outside but light and fluffy on the inside. But it was a decent waffle just not the best that's all. Will prefer if the Hokkaido Ice Cream is a bigger scoop too! :p
Wanted to try their Yam Cake but it was sold out by the time I got there. :( Got the Root Beer Cake and Mocha while the rest had their Tea. Hmm... Nothing on that table impressed us. But the place has great atmosphere. Like that it has this clean look and lotsa greens around. Perhaps will go back to try their Yam Cake before deciding if it is on my "can go back" list.
Brunch with a slight twist
