Super delicious Ondeh Ondeh. Fresh from the kitchen, bouncy like it should be, & not too sweet. Fairly long queues during lunch hour, but worth it.

(Nespresso coffee & Watsons tissue paper not included.)

Single Origin Dark Chocolate Ice Cream Platter ($12)

This place is one for the dark chocolate lovers. I enjoyed this a lot, although it melted quickly.

Small seating area in one of the open spaces (not an actual store with walls - if you know what I mean) & it got full real quick, literally right after I sat down. I got lucky!

Don't say bojio: 15% off Single Origin & Signature Dessert Platters with HSBC cards. 😉

The staff were very patient in explaining how the ordering system works. Choose a gelato flavour (classic $4.80 or premium $5.80), then pick 1 dip & 1 topping (free). As you can see, the dips can be done in 2 different ways: half/fully dipped, or drizzled across. Any additional toppings cost $0.50 each.

The gelato is made in-house daily, with no added preservatives or artificial flavouring. Taste-wise, I liked it as it wasn't too sweet, yet very creamy & decadent. I would love to come back here again for some post-meal indulgence!

While everyone is going crazy about the new (permanent) Magnum Pleasure Store in ION Orchard, I'm over here in the wild wild west eating something same same but different at Poppy Pops.

Located on the 6th floor of JEM (one level above Koufu's Cookhouse), you have to take a escalator up from the food court itself. So secretive leh. But thanks to Migin's review, I had no problems finding it.

I first tried Meruto Cheesecake (Original, $8) as a gift. Loved it so much that I bought more thereafter to share with others - Pandan ($8) & Matcha Green Tea ($9). The texture is the same for all, no matter what flavour it is. Light & fluffy & most importantly (for me) not too sweet.

My favourite is the original, then the Matcha, & lastly the Pandan. I just feel that the other flavours clash with the natural cheese flavour that is so subtle & delicious. It's a little confusing to eat.

There also is a Cookie flavoured one, which I did not try. But I'm quite inclined to stick to the very yummy original!

You can contact their store at 8612 2205 to enquire about what flavours are left or if you wish to reserve any. I actually told them I'd collect it from 12-1PM & I was running late.. Got a call at 1:10PM (when I almost reached haha) as a gentle reminder - I think that's pretty good service?

Put it in the fridge if you don't eat it immediately - 'tis good for 3 days, but honestly I'm quite sure it'll be all gone before the 3rd day lah 😉

The store is very inconspicuous - unit number is #01-3663 if that helps anyone. If you're parking your car, park as far from the entrance as you can to minimise walking distance.

Strange to come to a Strudel place to order cakes ($15.10 for these 3 slices)... But we didn't want the flaky pastry to aggravate our coughs. I'm not surprised with my experience here. Small tables that sit only 8 people in total, & cashier area is very small too. Most people here place orders to go. & we probably should've done that too, because our chocolate cake & cheesecake were both taken out from the freezer. Rock. Solid. Hard. Very difficult to eat immediately - which the cashier did make known to us when we ordered so... It's not her fault.

There are way better cakes elsewhere, so stick to their Strudel is what I'd recommend.

The scrumptious Apple Tart Tatin ($10.00) has a preparation time of 30 minutes, so it's best to order it at the start of your meal 'cos it's gonna take a while. Does not look like much, but is a pleasant dessert. The pastry added a nice chewy texture to the soft apple in the center-- which, btw, the apple is PIPING HOT so watch out when you tuck in! Surprisingly, it is NOT as sweet as I feared it would be. Delightful!

Coconut Blancmange ($12++)

The creamy coconut Panna Cotta was quite divine-- & the passionfruit on top gave it a good sour/tart kick. Indifferent towards the crumbles on top. Overall, pleasantly surprised with this dessert, though I would still prefer the Valrhona Chocolate (if shared) as a dessert.

Valrhona Chocolate ($14++)

Fabulous gooey centre; a decadent dessert meant to be shared, if not you'll feel like a buibui after you finish it all.

Cakes ($7 a slice) are "seasonal" in that they rotate often - check the display next to the cashier to see what they have. Here's a chocolate cheesecake - dense, slightly tangy, & the chocolate is only a little bit sweet. It is very jelat to finish this on your own, so don't be greedy & do share this with your friends.

Not that I tried. I didn't. I only tried to finish half 😛

Cheese Jing Syuan Tea
芝士金宣茶
$4.10 M, $5.10 L; +$0.50 for pearls

Not the best cheese combination I have tried, but it's decent. For those who don't know what the cheese tastes like - think of a BAKE cheese tart in foamy form. Slightly salty, slightly sweet. You try each layer by itself first, then muddle it together & drink it all up. When you do, the cheese taste isn't that prominent anymore. ☺

My all time favourite is the Bo Bo Cha Cha 摩摩喳喳 ($2.30 nett), & sometimes it runs out if you're too late, so I guess I'm not the only one 😆 I enjoy it cold, but my trusty eating buddy prefers it hot. So I always get the best of both worlds - & yes, there is a difference: Red Rubies are only put in the hot one!
