Was suckered in to buying these a roadshow/bazaar because I was handed some samples & they looked pretty yummy. These are Swiss Rolls with apparently flavoured cream cheese centres, but I couldn't really taste anything cheesey so I guess it's very very light.

Clearly I enjoyed the samples because I ended up buying a roll of Avocado with Gula Melaka & Special Pandan, usually at $10.90 each but with a minimum purchase of 2 rolls you get them at $7.90 each. Strangely enough, one was shorter than the other, not really sure why, or if they're even supposed to be the exact same dimensions.

Taste test: We loved them! Best eaten cold (imho) ; it's very addictive & you'll finish this before you even know it. The spongey exterior is fluffy & soft, the interior is creamy yet light. I prefer the Avocado one but my sister likes the Pandan better, so it's all about personal preference here. Will definitely purchase this again! Maybe I'll try some other flavours the next time - D24 Durian, Strawberry or Mango Cream Cheese, Lychee Martini, Chocolate... Impressive variety.

Don't say bojio. A picture speaks a thousand words.

Pre-opening promotion for the ice cream mean you only pay $2.50 instead of $6.00 for a single scoop of ice cream: Choose from Vanilla, Chocolate (out of stock when we were there 😔), Matcha. The Vanilla was creamy, Matcha flavour is pretty strong. Not too shabby. Also, their scoops seem very big... Not complaining though 😜

Pure Pandan's chiffon cakes are sold in the following sizes: slice ($1.80)/small cake ($9)/large cake ($16).

It's my first time trying this.. It's alright. I'm more curious about their soya pandan cake variety, but they were sold out.

It wasn't terrible, but I'll probably stick to my usual neighbourhood bakery though, just because that's cheaper & nearer to me.

BUAY TAHAN. Random craving for something cold & sweet-but-not-too-sweet. Decided to get some Cocowhip. Yes, it does taste like coconut. While the flavour that immediately hits your palate isn't crazy strong, the aftertaste does linger.

Cocowhip is a little bit like a soft serve, but less creamy & more icy because it's made with coconut water. (That makes it vegan btw!) It might look like a froyo swirl, but it isn't sour like froyo. I like it! It's a whole new class of its own.

Though it isn't a cheap dessert by any means ($6.50 for this naked swirl, & also the only topping left on a Friday night was the espresso syrup which costs $1 - I politely declined), when you are craving a certain something like this..... You just pay, lah.

Ps: Had a major brain freeze by the end of this cup. But it's worth it. ❄

Each meal we ordered came with a free ice cream from Island Creamery 😍 Not sure if this is a promotion or it's there for good 😉

Out of the 2 flavours available - Teh Tarik & Reverso - I preferred the former for being less sweet, although if you're a chocolate lover you'd probably enjoy the latter.

Dessert was Foie Gras Ice Cream, Brulee Banana, Roasted Nuts ($13) because HELLO FOIE GRAS ICE CREAM!?

Honestly didn't know what to expect. The flavour of the Foie Gras wasn't too strong (thankfully) & the balance of slightly salty & sweet was great.

However, as I'm not a fan of bananas, I'd actually just rather have a whole scoop of solid ice cream than the rest of the dessert. This is purely my own bias, though. Was worth a shot for the novelty.

TIRAMISU ($10++)
In my Chope reservation, I told Bella Pasta that it was my dad's birthday & asked if there was anything they could do to make our meal special. Having received no response to my query, I tossed it aside & treated this like a normal meal.

Imagine how surprised I was (probably as much as my dad lol) when they brought out a slice of Tiramisu & started singing the birthday song! That was a really sweet gesture & I really appreciated it. We wolfed it down in an instant. Thank you Bella Pasta!

The full range of ice cream flavours: Dark Chocolate, Vanilla, Sea Salt Caramel, Honey Lavender, Rock Melon Sorbet. Unfortunately, you can't order ice cream & "add on" a plain Homemade Buttermilk Waffle here, so we decided to go with something off their default waffle menu.

"Honey B" is the cheapest of the lot at $11, with a scoop of Sea Salt Caramel ice cream. You can swap the ice cream flavour to something else at no additional cost, which is what we did. Opted for the Dark Chocolate & Honey Lavender (additional $3 extra for the 2nd scoop). The latter was my favourite out of the 2, even though the bright purple hues scared me a little. The ice cream wasn't too sweet, & the lavender was quite strong. Mm mmmm, good. The Dark Chocolate wasn't terrible, just not as rich as I would've hoped for it to be.

Back to the Waffle Ding Dongs: Honey B comes with butter & whipped cream, which I conveniently swept to the side because that's not how I roll. Waffles were drizzled with honey, & the biscuit crunch was in a generous pile on the side.

The actual waffles themselves, oh boy. I've read some reviews that the waffles are too crispy for their liking, but TO EACH HIS OWN. I actually really freaking love them for being this way! They are so crispy on the outside, yet fluffy & fairly dense on the inside.

There is an option to add caramelised banana to the works (additional $1.50) but I dislike bananas with a passion so.... Nope.

Overall, this surprised me very much & I will return here to try their other dishes. Catfeine doesn't only serve desserts & coffee, but some brunch fare as well. Quite promising!

Crostata alle Mele e Pinoli con Gelato alla Vaniglia e Salsa alla Cannella
Apple and Pine Nut Crumble with Vanilla Ice Cream and Cinnamon Sauce
$16++

This was worth the 30 minute wait! I hereby vote that all apple crumbles have pine nuts in them, because it gives such great texture to it. The apples aren't too tart nor too sweet 👍 I only wish there were more vanilla ice cream to go with this!!

I would like to have these daily for breakfast please. Watch me, just WATCH ME get fat. I loved these so much that before we left, I went to buy more for the fambam for the next day's breakfast.

Assorted Muffins are priced at $1.30 onwards, which I find insanely reasonable because these are very sizeable muffins, & they are not only delicious but also fluffy & moist. This should be the standards for muffins everywhere!

I'm not going to talk about the individual muffins we ate (Chocolate Chip which we got to bring home, Banana Walnut, Orange Peel, Blueberry) because this really depends on your personal preference of what flavours you enjoy. I liked them all! Look out for the little sheet of paper (i.e. their menu) on the left side of the stall to check out what they have available & their respective prices ☺

Not pictured: Pandan Chiffon Cake which was WHOA moist & decadent. Not too sweet either. My mum & sis enjoyed the Banana Chiffon Cake I bought home for them, too. I guess everyone is a fan, now.

Ps: Chocolat 'N' Spice actually has 3 outlets in total - Shunfu Mart (#02-12/13), Telok Blangah (Blk 78B St 12, #01-27) & Tanjong Pagar Plaza (#01-18).

Super delicious Ondeh Ondeh. Fresh from the kitchen, bouncy like it should be, & not too sweet. Fairly long queues during lunch hour, but worth it.

(Nespresso coffee & Watsons tissue paper not included.)
