All My Past Hunts
Ippudo is worthy of its status as one of the must-eat ramen establishments in Singapore, the broth was thick and the tonkotsu taste shone through, easily drank the whole bowl down haha. The char siu is thinly sliced, soft and tender, easy to eat. Pity the noodles were a bit too hard for my liking despite ordering medium hardness. Looks like I'll try soft next time...
It's a pretty good size, recommended to serve with 3 people as dessert. Green tea tried here for quite bitter towards the end, but for 10 bucks you get a heap of condensed milk, green tea ice and even a scoop of decent matcha ice cream. Others flavours include patbingsu for 8 bucks, Dutch, strawberry, mango going for 14 bucks. Quite well hidden in b2 of beauty world shopping mall but nonetheless a cosy cafe to be in. Plus, free wi-fi!
To be fair, we waited for quite some time and even contemplated leaving. The murtabak wasn't exactly nice to eat either so probably try something else. It was okay value at 12.80 but don't buy it.
Wow.
From a little western stall in a hidden corner of woodlands near where I live, a value proposition is to be found. $2 for at least double a Medium McDonald's fries. A little tough and a little too salty, but hey, $2 for such a large portion?
Overall 8/10. Gripe: ingredients were hardly warm at all. Btw the picture was taken after the portion was split in two and after a hungry student ate three bites.
Three options for equally huge plates turned up at $14.80, $16.80 and the ultra $19.80 with varying amounts of ingredients. We went for the $16.80 and boy was the plate heavy to hold and heavy on the stomach. Sure, the curry was pretty okay and the rice was atypically japanese. The stars are the ingredients, two fried ebi, three pieces of Japanese fried chicken huge karaage style and two rows of tonkatsu chicken katsu. Such was the portion of ingredients that two people couldn't finish it there.
Queue was long, thought it'd be good. But it was cheap, quality was average, chicken was soft but that's about it. Overall subpar and short of expectations
Medium sized, $4.60 was pretty okay. Salted caramel a little too salty, Granny's Favourite was q good. Both had little chunks of surprises in them to sweeten that experience
Overall serving larger than rival Nine Fresh, tastes better but it is on the expensive side while 3/5 of this portion would cost 2+ at nine fresh but this costs 6 so not worth it, really.
Very fragrant rice, larger than usual chicken wing. Total cost $3.90
