Nestled right beside an NTUC, this malay delights cafe is one of my favourite places to get my malay foodies cravings fixed. Lotong, Mee Rebus and Nasi Rendang you name it. The ayam penyat portion is quite sizeable, good amount of fried chicken and rice. Fried chicken is super crispy and the meat is super juicy. The sambal belachan is slightly sweeter and not as spicy than other places. Rice is fluffy and fragrant. They also gave you some crispies toppings that made the meal have an extra delightful crunch 😄. The soup however not so great.

For me, what makes a good burger is a juicy beef patty, a slice of melty cheddar cheese all sandwiched between 2 tasty toasted buns. In isteaks diner, they definitely serve delicious burgers. The beef patty was grilled to perfection, extremely tender, full of beefy flavour. As you pressed the burger and devour it, you can just see the juices overflowing from the patty, like a beefy juice waterfall😍 With that slice of cheddar cheese, it gives the burger that extra melty salty edge. Also, I can tell that they put in effort in their buns, not just any rubbish like some other places🙄 Last but not least, the fries are thick to my liking. Will definitely come back for this burger again👍😋

This gratin dish is like a Bolognese pasta but with much much more cheese. Inside there's al dente penne pasta, covered with whole lots of melty hearty cheese and topped with Bolognese sauce. Flavours are slightly sweet and not too salty. Portion wise, it is okay. Personally I feel that the food is nice but not amazing but at such cheap price in a restaurant at shopping centre, where to find? This Japanese italian restaurant chain serves up food that won't burn a huge hole in your wallet, so if you're feeling a bit broke and still wanna eat good food at shopping malls restaurants, this is the place to go. On a side note, the plating of Saizeriya food gives me a kind of miniature kiddy feel😂😂 quite cute lurh

First ever Army Stew for me, to me it's like a Chinese hotpot, except that this is a spicier version. A chicken broth base, filled with enoki mushrooms, bacon, pork belly, spam, sausages, macaroni and various veggies. It's a superb meal to eat when it's raining cats and dogs outside I must say. One thing I noticed is that as the pot continues to cook, the flavors start to become more and more, and the broth becomes even more flavorful. The instant noodles soak up those goodness from the broth and become so yummy also. Oh and I like how they offer refillable soup to you😄 Will I ever eat this again? YES

There's a mini cafe inside RP library which serves some pretty affordable western delights. It's a cafe, so I gotta try right? Well, it's just pretty standard fish n chips, very much like the ones at hawker fare. Portion is alright, that orange breaded crumb coated fish is not bad I would say, crispy and the batter gives that slightly sweet after taste. Fries however are a little bit too hard for my liking, it's not crispy. Oh and after dining at the cafe, you can get to play darts and pool! So pretty much, quite a fun cafe.

When it comes to good tendons, the batter of the tempura must be light and super crispy, hence you'll able to taste the freshness and sweetness of the ingredients. Well, Watami's tendon certainly fulfills the criteria of a good tendon. The tendon bowl sure looks majestic, with deep fried battered prawns, chicken, pork and an assortment of veggies like pumpkin and sweet potato. All of them were a joy to eat, you pick and choose which one to put in your mouth first followed by the other. For me, it's an element of fun when it comes to eating tendons. Layered with a light drizzle of tentsuyu, this tempura bowl certainly let the ingredients be the main show. Rice is QQ and in generous portion. This set comes with a soft delicate fried tofu, a light salad and a drink too. Pretty worth it huh? Well if you're a student, you can simply have this meal $2 cheaper for the weekday lunch set! Don't say I bojio ah. With that said, heard that there's some good reviews of MOF tensho tempura bowl, so gonna try it soon 😄

Blk 628 AMK food market is one of my most frequent hawker centres, it serves some very delicious food there. So this chicken noodle stall is opened not long ago, and judging from the aesthetic appearance of the stall, I've decided to gave it a go. The chicken was super succulent and juicy, tender as well, with the fatty skin, I love it😍😍 Inside the plate, there's peanuts as well and also some chye sim to balance the meal. Noodles were QQ and springy. Then there's also a bowl of chicken bone soup, the broth is full of the chicken flavor. Never tried the Michelin starred Hawker Chan HK soya sauce chicken noodle, so not sure how this compared to that one though. Overall, it was a super good meal, I would recommend you to try this stall if you're happened to stop by in this food centre. Oh ya, top up $1.50 for chicken drumstick noodle, and they serve roasted pork noodle as well😄

This roti prata chain serves a large variety of pratas, they also come up with super innovative ones. Been here a few times already, absolutely enjoyed my time there. The kosong prata fried to that golden brown colour was super crispy, dipped the prata into the sardine curry and it's a perfect combo👍👍 The sardine curry doesn't have that fishy smell and taste, so it was extremely pleasant. Egg prata was huge, I went to other prata places and was amazed by the size of the egg prata in Springleaf. It was delightful to munch on as you could taste the fried egg with the fresh prata👌👌 Definitely recommending this prata place to you guys if you haven't tried yet.

At Janggut Laksa stall, they are super well known for their superb bowl of laksa, but I'm there to try their chicken cutlet rice with curry. Walking past the stall, I was tempted by the fried chicken cutlets chopped by the stall person. They look so crispy! So i sat at that place and ordered it. Here's the verdict, as you can see from the photo, there's no greens, just curry and fried chicken cutlets, so health-minded people, this is NOT for you😂😂 I love how the chopped up fried chicken cutlets still retain that slight crisp from the chicken skin despite layered by that tasty curry sauce. Overall, it was super delightful for a hungry carnivore to chomp down this heart meal down quickly. Oh and at that place, it's really just a place you want to quickly eat and go, not very comfortable and suitable for you to have a slow chat and dine. Due to the high turnover rate, expect the food to come quickly. Next time, I'm gonna have their laksa and curry chicken 😋😋

I was expecting the presentation of the food to be slightly better as I compared it with the menu one. But as they say looks are deceiving, the vermicelli is actually very nice. I like the combination of the ingredients in this bowl, pickled veggies, cucumber strips, lettuce, beef and vermicelli. It makes you feel like you're eating this exciting and fresh salad. You have that crunch from the veggies, and the flavour from the sweet chili sauce and fish sauce. Toppled with peanuts, this dish actually blends super well together, like they are in perfect harmony. The spring roll was a delight to munch on, crispy, some tasty pork fillings inside. Also was given a lime not in the picture for me to squeeze it into the bowl, giving me that extra acidic kick to it. However, was a tad bit disappointed that the beef a bit overdone, slightly tough to chew on. .

Craving a meaty pizza and this one is what I'm certainly looking for. Mangalica Sausage✔️ Bacon✔️ Ham✔️ Pork Salami✔️ Topped with some capsicum, onions and mushrooms, this pizza sure is a great one to devour. Also, I love the taste of the fresh rocket leaves, have that nutty flavor to it. This pizza when it was served to me was super hot, freshly made and baked on the spot. The cheese I have to tell you sure was 💯 Regret not taking a picture of that glorious cheese pull. Price wise, this pizza being a special is definitely one of the pricier ones. .

Recently got into the feed of Straits Times, Penang Island Kitchen is a hidden gem nestled in the West Coast. Has featured the Penang delights of this restaurant in one of my post not so long ago, this time round, i gave the curry fish head a go. The curry contains the usual fish head, long beans, eggplant and some taupok. It's extremely flavorful, with all the contents in the curry creating one whole pot of goodness. The sour Assam taste definitely is super addictive, makes you wanna have another spoonful. And also this curry is not holding back its spicy kick, it certainly packs a punch. The curry is well balanced in it's thickness, it goes so well with a bowl of rice. And last but not least the fish, there's some generous portions of meat in the fish head. $22 for a claypot of assam curry fish head goodness, where you can share it among 4, zi char style is a must try!
