Stumbled upon this cool little spot. A darn good respite from the cold. Loved the hazelnutty hot chocolate with a shot of rum.
Very heavily salted meat. This was beef, pork and turkey breast. Got our protein fix for sure but way too heavy handed with the marination. EUR18
Surprisingly soft and tasty. Quick meal before heading on the train
Trying the Austria version, less sweet than the ones in Copenhagen but otherwise really similar
Getting my salad fix! Ecstatic to find a salad place that offers healthy toppings like quinoa, chicken breast, avocado, tuna, tomatoes, etc & healthy dressings too!
Evidently one of the traditional dishes - the stewed pork was pretty alright. The round dumpling thing was very flour-y & strange, and the cabbage was salty and sour. Pretty much ended up only having the meat. Love love love the city but the food not so much (or at all really)
Fulfilling my crisp apple Strudel 'sound of music' dream cos the bike tours are closed in winter. Settling for 2nd best! Actually glad that I tried this at a restaurant rather than at a street stall. This was light on the pastry (which was nice & crisp) & just filled with apples. 😍
This was a nice change from the meats! Well marinated grilled fish fillets, really fresh too! Comes with potatoes and an addictive side salad! Must add that this is a local place, so there's no English menu but the friendly waitress will explain the dishes to you. Pretty packed with locals on a Wednesday evening when I went & I can see why from the quality of food. Definitely check this one out if you're after that local atmosphere and fab food.
The perfect thing on a super windy -4 degrees evening - hot soup! This was a light vegetable based broth.
Veal schnitzel at the popular Sternbrau. Be sure to make reservations if you're going in a group. Was told this one's a must try by my airbnb hostess, and it was indeed pretty good. Light batter, tasty veal slice and butter parsley potatoes.
