Some time ago the zichar stall added a fried rice section in the style of Din Tai Fung. Quite basic lah nothing special.
Wow this was much better than I remember this zichar stall. Sure, it's the typical Malaysian zichar curry chicken, but this stall was worse. Generous too.
A hidden gem. They do their kam heong so differently. It's so wet and umami. It reminds me of Jin Pai at Alexandra Village.
What an experience. Haha. The girlfriend didn't prep me for what this place is. When we arrived, it was just chaos (in a mostly good way). A market bustling at night, selling mainly what we would associate with mornings, such as seafood and fruits. The hawkers also spoke an impressive amount of Korean. I realised Koreans love KK. This came wrongly. We ordered something else but sibei plain nasi goreng came.

When we reached the food zone, the seafood variety was pure wow. There were shellfish I've never seen before and prawns larger than lobsters. We were wary of scammers but this is one of the most central stalls and the friendly guy gave decent prices. This was about 10 SGD. The sotong, batter and frying were excellent. Rarely you get to personally choose a fresh squid to be turned into calamari.

Unfortunately, although the salted egg was okay, the lobster wasn't that fresh.

Unfortunately, although the kam heong was done well, the lobster wasn't that fresh and we suspect that's why he suggested kam heong.
Huge seafood restaurant. They must be doing well. Lots of seafood variety. But overall it's very bad. I only have one photo but the food and drinks can be summarised as plain, bland, uninspiring, confused. The prawns were dry and the yellow shreds were meaningless. Even our big steamed fish wasn't restaurant quality.
I ran out of options and figured Thai is safe. Just one of the variations of Thai fried rice you'll see. Not bad, quite fragrant. The prawns are gorgeous.
Cheat code. Crunchy morsels in a delicious sauce. It's hard to dislike. I couldn't stop.
Two of us decided to indulge a bit. This was enjoyable. Nothing extraordinary but it did its job.
