Turtle Soup
Been a while since I last had Turtle soup, and craved for it. With the current #stayhome situation, I’m so Glad that Tan Ser Seng had delivery option.
I pre-ordered 2 bowls of their “Regular” portion, and set it to be delivered on the date and time I wanted. That was cool!
The wonderful thing was their punctuality. I set it to the earliest slot available 12.30-1pm, and it was delivered at 12noon.
There were generous amounts of turtle meat and the gelatinous skin (as seen in the photo), and soup was also slightly gelatinous (unlike some others where it’s rather watery). 👍👍
Came here to try my luck, hoping that the Turtle Soup and Charcoal Roast stall would both be open (it being 6th day of CNY). Fortunately and unfortunately, only the Turtle soup was stall was open. Ordered their smallest bowl ($8) as I wasn’t sure if I’d like it.
The soup wasn’t pleasant with a tinge of herbal taste, not overly strong with the herbs and saltiness. Thank goodness. The meat was soft and collagenous parts had a bite to it.
Ordered the smallest portion for 1 pax to try. Auntie was friendly, told me to take a seat and actually served the soup to me, which is rare these days. Most hawkers are self-serviced. She told me her soup is Cantonese style, i.e herbs used are Cantonese based.
