Find respite from the hustle and bustle of town in this all-white minimalistic cafe. Treat yourself to their V60 Filter Coffee ($8) brewed with interesting, seasonal beans. Otherwise, kick back with a foolproof White ($5.50) or refreshing Iced Black ($5.50). Get $0.50 off your coffee if you bring your own cup or a $1 off if you use a Glyph-branded tumbler!

You'll find a snaking queue emerging from this otherwise inconspicuous bakery at The Longhaus on fringe of Upper Thomson Road. Seize one of their colourful stools as a makeshift table or have their coffee and bakes to go. While their bakes are excellent —savour the Vegan Bialy ($6), Spelt Almond Financier ($5) or Banana Walnut Date Tea Cake ($5.50) — the coffee deserves a mention too. Brewed with Cata Coffee beans, each cup is a delight. Have a Filter Coffee ($4.50) or delicious Cold Bew ($5).

Nestled in a cosy space along Club Street is this coffee kiosk known for creative coffee mixes. The crowd favourite is their creamy and unique Cereal Milk Latte ($7.50). Those in the mood for something refreshing should opt for the Coconut Cold Brew ($7) which is the perfect combination of coconut water, lime and cold brew. They also pull a mean White 5oz ($5) that's great when paired with the buttery Banana Loaf Bread ($4.50).

Head to Jalan Klapa for great coffee in this hip new joint. Try their Spro with Milk ($5) for a potent yet creamy coffee perfect for a midday pick-me-up, or follow Burppler Raine Liu's lead and get their White ($5) that goes great with their bake of the day. Their filter options are always great, simply ask the baristas for their recommendations! For a non-caffeinated option, try their refreshing Belly Buster ($6) — a lovely, tart mix of apple cider vinegar, raw honey and ginger.

Escape into quiet Everton Park for winning drinks at this intimate coffee bar. The divine smell of freshly roasted coffee here is irresistible. Huddle around the standing bar and enjoy your well-crafted coffee. You'll be hardpressed to find a smoother, more balanced 5oz White ($5). Pro-tip: If you're here for a beautiful pourover, have an espresso while waiting — it's excellent.

Just a five-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT is this spacious cafe in Khong Guan Building. This is Alchemist's second outlet, the first being a tiny takeaway joint in International Plaza, and the third in Design Orchard. Have a Flat White ($5) that's best paired with a flaky Butter Cinnamon Danish ($5) for an ultimate afternoon treat. Otherwise, opt for a foolproof Pour Over (from $5).

Set on the second floor of Odeon Towers, this Kyoto-born brand gets our vote for quiet afternoons with excellent coffee. The off-menu Dirty Matcha ($6) is a unique and delicious choice — smooth Matcha Latte spiked with an nutty espresso shot. Otherwise, all the espresso-based coffees are great, and they usually have something nice for filtered options!

Fast becoming known for as "the best place for coffee", come to this super chill corner shop at Lavender for excellent coffee and tea. You're here to slow down, enjoy an off-day, or simply to enjoy a very good coffee. Expect a small menu of just five blends on rotation. Get them to recommend a Filter (from $6) or have the creamy White ($4.50). They all come in sultry cups that are incredibly nice to hold!

This micro-roastery raises the game in the East with stellar cuppas and relaxed vibes. The Vanta house blend featuring 50% Brazilian and 50% Columbian beans is smooth and robust, making for delicious coffees whether you're having it black, white or even cold-brewed. The space and seats ideal for catching up with a close friend.

What a lovely surprise it is when you spot Tiong Hoe within Vivo City's Fairprice Xtra. Expect quality cuppas served in quaint ceramics, just like its older sibling located in Queenstown. Perfect for that midday perk-me-up is their creamy Latte ($4.50) or the super smooth Flat White ($5.40) — Burppler Regina Shao credits the perfectly balanced cuppa to its blend of 50% Columbia and 50% Guatemala beans roasted in-house.

This under-the-radar spot on the second floor of Far East Plaza is a saviour when looking for excellent coffee in Orchard. They usually roast and carry something interesting for a pourover, so look out for that. Otherwise, their espresso-based drinks are reliable! They have recently refreshed their space and added a few new drinks (we hear there's a Brown Sugar Latte) — all the more reason to head down. As a bonus, $1 from every cup of coffee goes to charity.

When it comes to good coffee, simple pastries and a stunning space, this Chijmes gem delivers. The beautiful glasshouse interior will put you in a stellar mood to start the day, as will the fragrant Filter Coffee ($7.50) — made with picks of the week from the likes of Cata Coffee and Homeground Coffee Roasters. Alternatively, the creamy Flat White ($5) with double shot also gets our stamp of approval — opt for Oat Milk for a non-dairy option.
