Snack
Super flaky and toffee-like pastry. The outer layer was delicate and crisp. The inner was like much like "prata"- the buttery taste and doughy-stretchy texture- yet the perimeter was caramelized and sweet.
Dish: Traditional "Pang Pang" Chinese Crêpe
Price: $5.90
New store selling Chinese Crêpe and skewers. This Crêpe is wrapped simply with sauces, egg, cabbage, spring onion, coriander and deep-fried wanton skins. What's "special" about this snack is the textures- soft (from the skin, egg and cabbage) and crispy (from the wanton skin).
Had wanted to try this new food store, located at Jurong East Bus Interchange, for a couple of time, but the queue were insane. This time round, there wasn't any queue. Hence, I ordered a one with the filling of preserved vegetable. I was expecting a doughy and chewy outer skin with preserved vegetable. However, it came out to be a huge thin biscuit-like pancake. There is nothing to comment on this snack from China; and nothing to rave about.
