Okinawa 🏝
T&M coffee prides itself on roasting their own beans. The coffee was aromatic, but slightly too acidic and lacking robust. The place was really chill though, the sofa seats were much needed after walking for hours at Kokusai Dori :)
Noodles were extremely springy! Broth was citrusy and refreshing, which is exactly what you need on a sweltering hot day! Tempura was flavourful, but the batter was slightly too thick. Don’t choose the sweet potato tempura, nice on its own but tastes weird when eating with noodles.
Very filling portion. The rice was plump and fragrant, flavoured with the earthiness of the vegetables. Soba was okay, nothing much to shout about but the soup was tasty, saltier and darker in colour due to the shoyu. The ambience is also great, like a traditional restaurant serving a wide range of Okinawa dishes.
The noodles here were the best I ever tasted in Okinawa! Kind of like ke kou mian, but springy and chewy as well. Loved the egg! The pork was okay, nothing fantastic but the soft bones were so tender that you could consume it.
Delicious ramen, but not worth the hype in my opinion. Soup was tasty, charsiew was meh and noodles were very well cooked. Lucky I didn’t need to queue for this!
One of their iconic flavours. Though the soft serve was tasty, the ice cream was very mild in sweet potato flavour and mainly lacking the earthiness of the sweet potato. Would only eat it once.
Extremely delicious soft serve ice cream! The saltiness paired really well with the vanilla base! One of my favourite flavours!!
Quite pricey for an ice coffee (500 Y) but it’s one of the best cup of coffee I’ve ever tasted! Full bodied, aromatic and mildly acidic. The view is Super chill too!
Dropped by this ‘local’ fish market for our lunch. Seafood is decently priced, but not super cheap. They have a wide selection of seafood tho, good if you want to try different things! Freshness of the seafood depends on the price I feel hahah
The beef slices were really sumptuous: well seasoned, balanced and really tender. The sauce went really well with the Japanese rice. This set only cost 600Y! Really affordable.
After trying a few places, this place has one of the better Okinawa pork ribs! The sweet soy marinade penetrated through the bone and the meat was fall off the bone tender! Handmade noodles were chewy and firm. The restaurant even has a beautiful garden! Great ambience :)
Delicious sashimi bowl topped with uni! The uni was firm but creamy enough, and the fish was extremely fresh! The Japanese rice grains were plump and chewy, which went really well with the ingredients. All this for only 1500 yen!! A gem on Kouri Island!
